Part 1)
"I'd like to clarify for everyone that I (or we) am not, and have never been, a traditional travel agent. For nearly 24 years, I've been working in tourism, but my primary focus has always been on 'research-based' work. As a 'Community Based Sustainable Tourism Facilitator & Developer', I've been working under my banner, SHARE (Support Himalayan Agro Rural Enterprises), for almost 20 years, starting with the much-discussed Chuikhim. Back then, this village was virtually unknown on the tourism map of Bengal or India.
After a lot of hard work and dedication, Chuikhim gradually gained recognition. However, many new tourism agencies and media personnel who have joined the industry recently are unaware of the struggles and history behind Chuikhim's development.
Those who know the story of Chuikhim's early days may not want to share it, or others may not be interested in knowing. It's as if this part of history is being swept under the rug.
Nevertheless, we continue our commitment to research-based tourism, which started in Chuikhim. Through our initiative, 'Club Musafir', we've been successfully creating exclusive itineraries and providing services for special guests, nature lovers, and responsible travelers for almost two decades. This has allowed us to address sustainability issues and build a loyal community of travelers.
I urge everyone to consider traveling with 'Club Musafir' for a unique and authentic travel experience. Our itineraries offer something different from what traditional travel agents provide. If your travel plans align with the availability of our team leader and founder, PK Mallik, you'll have the opportunity to hear firsthand about his experiences in developing community-based sustainable tourism in various Himalayan villages.
Thank you for your interest and support. On behalf of 'Club Musafir', I express our sincere gratitude."
