Tarraleah was epic. White dusty fire trails, earthy Tassie landscapes, ice cream prior to riding into the Meadowbank oasis for a long lunch and incredible wine and great family hospitality. What's not to love about the Après Vélo Cross Tassie Gravel Adventure
Our CrossTassie Gravel tour with Beardy McBeard. A long time in the planning but worth every minute. Our maiden voyage across Tasmania on gravel started with an epic climb of Jacobs Ladder and finished with beers at the magnificent Quamby Estate.
The following day we rode into the Central Highlands of Tasmania and felt privileged to experience incredible raw beauty on route. Our accommodation at the award winning Thousand Lakes Lodge was total zen and comfort. The wildlife we abundant and on show for us all to see including the Tasmanian Devil.
Today we rode into historical Tarraleah and look forward to indulging in a well earned 3 course Chefs menu this evening at Tarraleah Lodge.
Our guests from around Australia and the USA are an incredible bunch and we are all embracing this amazing gravel cycling adventure
Days 1&2 of our Cross Tassie Gravel Adventure with Beardy McBeard has been nothing short of spectacular.
Day 1 had us exploring the Cataract Gorge in Launceston via a network of single track and fire trails. We finished off the day with a refreshing swim in the gorge followed by welcome drinks and dinner.
Today we rode arguably Australias most iconic climb - Jacobs Ladder - 18km to the ski village with an average gradient of 8% all gravel. It was truly inspiring and overwhelming in all its harsh yet dramatic beauty.
Thereafter we rode a further 70km to beautiful Quamby Estate, our exclusive home for the night - all in all 108km with over 2000m of climbing.
The adventure continues tomorrow - day 3
Jacobs Ladder is a truly iconic Australian climb which features on our forthcoming Cross Tassie Gravel tour from Launceston to Hobart starting in 1 week with .
The climb to the top of the ski station is a total of 18km @ 8% all gravel.
Challenge + inspiration + reward awaits us all
