I was born in Staten Island, NY and grew up with the mishmash of cultures that makes up all of NYC. In my lifetime (mind you I am 30) I have moved eleven times; covering the span of ten counties, four states, and three vastly different climates (from the tropics to the antarctic). In that time period I have also traveled.... a lot. My family always took vacations all up and down the Eastern Coastl
ine of the United States. When I graduated high school, I lived in Jerusalem, Israel for three months on a mission trip. I also spent some time in Europe in college and explored Spain, France, and London. It seems only right that I would marry someone in the military to continue this love of traveling and moving. We are in our third military move and are getting ready for our fourth in the summer of 2013. Right now we are living in the area just outside of Washington DC and we LOVE it here. We have two boys ages 3&5 and they keep things especially interesting! There is so much to see and do ~ I am NEVER bored! I especially love the cultures... I like going into a place and just observing how people live and interact in their habitat. I majored in Social Work and have both my BSW and MSW. I always said if I didn't marry I would be in some remote area with the Peace Corps. It only made sense to study this interaction of people and family systems in college. I have worked in the social work field since graduating with my Master's Degree, but recently decided on a career change. With all my travels I have always enjoyed photography and taking photos of the places and people that I visit. Back in January of 2012 I decided to combine my two loves and create a business out of it, and Traveling Hearts Photography was born. Since then, I have been organizing the business and trying to create and mold it into the vision that I have in my head. It is taking MUCH LONGER than I anticipated to put the structure together, but it is finally starting to take shape. The goal and purpose of this page is to have a community of likeminded people join together to discuss all things photography and travel related. I will post helpful websites, tips, examples, weekly photos, and also link up with my blog and my etsy store. I am in the process of putting my full portfolio of photographs online at www.travelingheartsphotography.com ~ That is where photos will be available for purchase should you be interested. Take care and Happy Shooting
