Do you believe in love at first sight? When it comes to hotels, I sure do! 🤭
Okay maybe that was a liiittle cheesy, but I can’t help it: I fell head over heels in love with the Matild Palace in Budapest. Originally built in 1902, the palace is now a UNESCO world heritage site that’s since been beautifully restored (and trust me, she really is a BEAUTY). The interior design features an eclectic mix of colors, patterns, and textures that somehow all work seamlessly together—think regal elegance meets modern flair.
And while I adore a beautiful boutique hotel, all the gorgeous design in the world could never replace the quality of its staff – and fortunately, Matild Palace flawlessly checks both these boxes. 👌🏻

One of the biggest surprises on my recent river cruise? The incredible wines in Croatia and Hungary!🍷
If you love a crisp white, Ilok Croatia has some of the best — and if you’re Team Red like me, then the Szekszárd region of Hungary will not disappoint (the cabernet franc is my new personal favorite).
Who knew this part of Europe had such fantastic wine? (well, now you do 🤭). If you’re a wine lover like me, this is a hidden gem you won’t want to miss!

🌍 Local Cuisine: I love that the menu onboard is inspired by the places you’re exploring. Think ratatouille on the Rhône, schnitzel on the Rhine, Hungarian goulash on the Danube… be prepared to eat your way through Europe!
🍷 Wine & Dine: And it doesn’t stop at the food! You’ll get to pair your meals with exceptional local wines and beers, handpicked to match the flavors perfectly.
👨🍳 Chef’s Table Experience: This is hands down the best dining experience of the week on an AmaWaterways river cruise. The chef prepares a special multi-course meal in an intimate setting with you and a handful of other guests.
🍽️ Local Flavors Ashore: While the dining options onboard are incredible, I *highly* recommend stepping off the ship and grabbing a bite to eat when you’re in port, at least once. Think river cruising is just about walking tours? Think again!
My 8-day journey down the Danube was packed with fun and unique activities that truly showcased the local life and flavors of each destination. Here’s a peek into some of my favorite experiences:
🏰 ROCK-HEWN CHURCHES IN BULGARIA — A short trip outside Rousse brought us right into a beautiful Nature Park! We hiked up a cliffside to explore the ancient rock-hewn churches.
🥐 BANITSA PASTRY & YOGURT TASTING — I’m all about hands-on experiences, and this one was extra special because it was in a local’s home! We learned how to make traditional Bulgarian banitsa and yogurt (and, of course, got to taste our creations too 😋).
🏰 GOLUBAC FORTRESS — Our first stop in Serbia was the medieval Golubac Fortress. The views from the towers were unmatched 😍
🏞️ BELGRADE FORTRESS HIKE — Love a gorgeous sunset? Same! Don’t miss the golden-hour hike up to Belgrade Fortress for amazing views.
🍷 CROATIAN WINE TASTING — I’m still thinking about the sparkling rosé we enjoyed at Ilok’s Principovac Wine Estate 😍 The grounds are STUNNING, with breathtaking views of the town of Ilok.
🍇 HUNGARIAN VINEYARDS — Who knew the Hungarian countryside was famous for its incredible wines? We explored a beautiful estate and sampled some fantastic wines here!

A floating boutique hotel? Yes, please! The lovely AmaBella was my cozy home-away-from-home as I sailed down the Danube. From beautifully designed staterooms to top-notch onboard amenities, this ship was as much an “experience” as the incredible excursions.
🚢 AmaBella Staterooms — I loved unwinding on my balcony, soaking in those stunning river views with a cup of coffee (or a glass of rosé!) in hand. Pro Tip: Splurge on a twin balcony room if you can. You’ll get extra outdoor space and a much more comfortable living area too! (Swipe for a room tour).
🍷 Onboard Experiences — There’s never a dull moment on the AmaBella. Whether you’re taking a dip in the pool on the sun deck, indulging in a relaxing massage, enjoying local entertainment, or even trying a fitness class (champagne yoga, anyone?), there’s always something fun to do between destinations.

✈️ Just back from a fabulous Gems of Southeast Europe River Cruise with ! This was my second river cruise, and I can’t wait to tell you all about what I got up to as we sailed through Romania, Bulgaria, Serbia, Croatia, and Hungary.
You all know by now that I’m a huge fan of river cruising (it’s easily one of the best ways to see Europe!). It’s truly the perfect blend of luxury, culture, and scenic beauty that I know so many of you would love for your next getaway.
Beyond that, river cruising is also an excellent way to get off the beaten path. While ‘hot’ destinations will always be big hitters, I’m on a mission to inspire you to go farther and deeper into your travels. Because off the beaten path can be pretty cool, too — and I’m going to prove it to you 😉

Cheers to SIX years 🎉
Go Wander Travel Co. officially celebrated its 6th anniversary on Friday! Back in 2018, I hardly knew what GWTC would someday be. It started off as a passion project, and around the time I decided that I wanted to turn this into an actual career, the “thing that shall not be named” happened 😅
In a turn of events that initially felt like my dreams were crushed, I managed to reframe it as an opportunity: to learn, to pivot, to plan for the future. Travel eventually came back. I finally left my 9-5. I found my groove. I expanded. What a wild ride!
I am so incredibly grateful for each and every one of you who have put your trust in me to bring your trips (your memories!) to life — being a part of your travel stories is something I never ever take for granted. 🫶🏻
All I ever wanted was to be able to help people explore the world in a more meaningful, authentic way. Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to turn my passion project into the most amazing career I could have asked for. I couldn’t do it without you. 🥂

Juggling a business with motherhood is a funny thing: one day I feel like I’ve got it all together, and the next day I’m one curveball away from totally losing my marbles. 😅
May is a *super* busy month for GWT travelers, meaning my April has been a little bonkers with lots of deadlines and little details to tend to. So when my kid spiked a fever on Monday, I have to admit, it sent me into a bit of a tizzy. 😬
Thankfully, stepped in to help take some of the client work off my plate so that I could focus on where I was needed most: spending extra time with my son and giving him all the snuggles. Without her, I’d be heading into this weekend with a high level of anxiety, sacrificing self-care and sleep just to get it all done. Teamwork really does make the dream work 🫶🏻

Just back from a recent stay and gotta say, I loved soaking up all the charm of this off the beaten path hotel! If you’re outdoorsy but don’t want to totally rough it, Oliverea Valley is a great landing pad for feeling like you’re away from it all, while still being just a short drive to charming towns throughout the Catskills.
There’s lots of little touches throughout the property that I adored:

Here’s some big news worth celebrating… Go Wander Travel Co. is growing! 🎉
If you had asked me a year ago if growing a team was in my business plan, I would have truthfully said “I don’t know”. Whether out of fear (I’m risk averse) or simply that I didn’t know exactly what that would look like (hello, planner to a fault here), I wasn’t certain whether that was the right path for my business.
And then I met Michelle. A couple of coffees and hours of conversation later, it immediately became apparent to me that this could be a truly beautiful partnership.

TRIP RECAP 🌵 | I love having the opportunity to grow with my clients and to be a part of so many of their milestones. I’ve had the distinct pleasure of being the the Brown family’s travel advisor since Go Wander Travel’s debut in 2018! Their kids were much smaller then, and it’s been so fun planning their adventures as they’ve grown.
This year, the Brownies decided to tackle Arizona!
🥾 This active + adventurous family loves to get out and explore, so they spent a lot of time hiking in the Grand Canyon + Sedona.
🛻 Back in Flagstaff, the was their home-away-from home, complete with chill retro vibes and easy access to the historic Route 66.
🐴 After all the excitement, they then headed down to Scottsdale where sunnier + warmer weather awaited.

☀️ Next, they explored the Old Town and spent some well-deserved time by the pool at the Camelback Inn Resort & Spa (). This stunning property is the perfect home-base in Scottsdale, as it’s close to the Old Town while still being in easy reach of several of the area’s outdoor adventures.

🌺 TRIP RECAP | The sweetest honeymooners just returned from their adventure to the beautiful island of Kauai 😍
Usually the biggest question from clients when planning their bucket-list trip to Hawaii is… which island? With their love for outdoor adventures and getting off the beaten path, and less than a week to explore, I knew Kauai was going to be the perfect fit for Morgan + Max.

🇲🇽 TRIP RECAP | There’s something really special about having the chance to plan a trip for a client more than once. After sending Amy + Mike on their bucket-list adventure to Kauai last fall, they reached back out to plan a spring break getaway — this time, with the whole fam!
There are so many options out there that it can feel overwhelming sifting through them all on your own. That’s where I come in! Knowing that this family was looking for beautiful water + beaches but also enough active + adventurous activities to keep their family busy, the Riviera Maya felt like the perfect option for these first-time international travelers.
The Marcotts spent their week swimming in cenotes, exploring caves, visiting UNESCO World Heritage Sites like Chichen Itza, and so much more. Don’t worry, they saved some time for relaxation too down by the beach and pool, or their favorite spot — the rooftop terrace of their room!

WELCOME, MY FELLOW ADVENTURERS!
My name is Lina. Travel has always very much been a part of who I am. For as long as I can remember, I have had an insatiable wanderlust and a desire to explore the world. I truly believe that travel is good for the soul and the best way to live life. While I’ve always been curious about the world and its many cultures, the travel bug really struck during my college years when I traveled abroad for the first time. In my free time, I’d spend hours researching cities and countries around the world, just for fun. I’m fascinated by other cultures and fully recognize the world is so much more than the here and now. I have the deepest desire to explore every inch of it. I was (and still am) constantly daydreaming about the next adventure.
Over the years, friends and family encouraged me to turn my love of travel into a business due to my travel advice and ever growing collection of detailed trip itineraries to places I’ve yet to discover, uniquely curated by yours truly. My love for travel and the desire to help others create lasting memories from their adventures is what drives my passion as a travel professional.
Go Wander Travel Co. was initially launched in the summer of 2018 and has transformed into a creative professional outlet in which I wear many hats: planner, designer, writer, photographer.
WHAT I DO
I am an independent travel planner and trip designer. I specialize in planning immersive and experiential travel, and am dedicated to helping others explore their bucket-list destinations in the most authentic way possible. The adventures I curate are designed uniquely to you, your travel style, and your interests. This process all starts with a conversation about why you love travel and what you want to get out of it. My travels have an emphasis on immersion experiences, including adventure, culture, history, food, wine, and off the beaten path locales or hidden gems. I meticulously plan recommendations for places to stay, things to see, eat, do, and experience, as well as craft detailed maps and guides. My goal is to inspire travelers to explore the world and seek adventure, wherever it may find them.
I am also a professional travel agent/advisor, affiliated with Travel Quest and the Travel Leaders Network. With this partnership, I am lucky to have a lot of wonderful resources and travel industry relationships at my disposal. This gives me access to a plethora of great training, education, and professional development opportunities to become the best travel professional I can be.
