Every trip we take to 🏰 🐭 Walt Disney World 🐭🏰, I try to find at least one thing we haven’t done or tried before, whether it be an experience, dining or snacks…

Well this summer we went out with a bang, and made our trip full of things we have never done or tried before. So check out my posts of all the new things we tried during our trip in July.

Fourth post: New Rides and New Snacks!!

✨A new ride for all of us! Tiana’s Bayou Adventure- while we miss our beloved Splash Mountain, Tiana’s version is cute and well done! Love seeing our hometown represented too!

✨New snacks! Tiana’s beignets sprinkled with powdered sugar and a drizzle of honey! Disney still hasn’t quite reached Cafe du Monde or Morning Call potential but they were enjoyable. We also tried the lavender lemonade. The kids enjoyed it!

✨New rides for Leighton! She finally reached her full Disney potential and is tall enough for the 48in rides- she rode Rock N Roller Coaster and Tron for the first time this trip, and even though she has been tall enough for Space Mountain and Expedition Everest for a while, she finally braved those too! She loved them all!

✨Hard to believe, given all of our many WDW vacations, the kids have never ridden the Liberty Square Riverboat. This trip, we made it happen, and enjoyed a leisurely cruise around Tom Sawyer island- (just a few days before a man decided to go swimming in that water) 😳

✨Gaston’s Tavern- we tried the NEW crème brûlée croissant and it was delicious! Also grabbed a cinnamon roll, that we’ve had in the past, but Leighton devoured this one and licked the cup of icing clean! 🤣

✨Aloha Isle- got some old favorites- pineapple upside down cake with coconut and pineapple swirl, and the tried and true cup of pineapple dole whip, while Leighton tried a new float- coconut and pineapple swirl with POG juice and a cake pop. Sadly, the cake pop was not very good! 😬

✨Ice Cold Hydraulics- a fairly new snack stand that opened in Hollywood Studios about a week after our Mardi Gras trip- we tried the Candy Painted Cinnamon Rolls, which were pretty tasty and got an order of regular mini churros that the kids loved and said were better than the standard churro. We wanted to go back to try the savory Bouncin’ Mini Churros, but never made it back!

✨While we have stayed at Disney’s Contemporary resort, this time we stayed Club Level! It was a huge surprise for the kids and they even asked if we could just stay at the resort most of the day instead of going to the park- THAT’S how much we enjoyed the club level lounge! 🤣 Check out my photos of all of the complimentary club level lounge food offerings, and what could beat eating breakfast, snacks and dinner with a view of the castle and watching the fireworks with the music piped in on the balcony, while having all the desserts you care to eat! Huge shout out to David in the club level lounge for spoiling my kiddos and being so kind to them, and for leaving us desserts in our room the night we knew we would be at the park during the dessert hours.✨

While we have been to Disney Springs on numerous occasions, this trip we were able to check out many new experiences and treats.

✨Went to the NEW “Ever After” store and made customized ears with Disney plush characters.

✨Tried the red velvet cake at Gideon’s, along with some cookies we have had before.

✨Made custom M&M’s with our faces on it!

✨Dined at Splitsville and had some yummy sushi!

✨Watched the new drone show: Dreams That Soar!

✨Got a Minnie Bubble Waffle Sundae!

First up:
🌊 After Hours Glow Party at Typhoon Lagoon. 🌊

✨This is a paid for After Hours Event that includes admission to Typhoon Lagoon beginning at 6pm, with the party going from 8-11pm. It includes access to all of Typhoon Lagoon, and all you care to enjoy novelty ice creams, popcorn and soft drinks, and we also received cute glow necklaces with Lilo and Stitch on them upon arrival. We had so much fun! Short lines, no sun, playing at the water park at night, dance parties with characters, and I think we all ate our weight in complementary Mickey ice cream sandwiches, Mickey ice cream bars and strawberry fruit bars! ✨

Universal Orlando update:

UPDATE: Universal Orlando Resort theme parks including Universal Studios Florida, Universal Islands of Adventure and Universal Volcano Bay are planning to open and operate as normal at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 30. However, we will not offer our usual Early Park Admission benefit for on-site hotel guests, select Annual Passholders and other select travel trade clients on this day while our teams prepare the parks for opening after the storm. Our hotels remain operational as they focus on taking care of our guests.
