EXCURSION FEZ-CHEFCHAOUEN
Chefchaouen or Chaouen, as it is often called by Moroccans, is a popular tourist destination because of its proximity to Tangier and the Spanish enclave of Ceuta. The name refers to the shape of the mountain tops above the town that look like the two horns (chaoua) of a goat. “Chef Chaouen” derives from the Berber word for horns, Ichawen. There are approximately two hundred hotels catering to the summer influx of tourists. One distinction possessed by Chefchaouen is its blue-rinsed houses and buildings.
Chefchaouen offers many native handicrafts that are not available elsewhere in Morocco, such as wool garments and woven blankets. The goat cheese native to the area is also popular with tourists.

There are a number of distinct mosques in the city. Aside from the mosque at Place UtaHammam in the medina, there is also a mosque dedicated to the patron saint of Northern Morocco’s Jebalah region, MoulayAbdeslam Ben MchichAlami. His tomb and the village surrounding it is by the way an hour’s drive or so fromChefchaouen on the old road to Larache. There is also a ruined mosque built by the Spanish, with stairs still in the tower.

Details about the excursion:

Your excursion to Chefchaouen will start from Fez through the mountain Zagouta. On your way, we will get to an amazing panoramic view of SedChahed water dam. This 190 Km road is a mind-blowing natural scene.

After reaching the city, your tour will start by the main square is the heart of Chefchaouen and features a Kasbah built in the 18th century, a central mosque, and cafés with authentic Moroccan menus. The busy market offers a mix of traditional Moroccan wares and souvenirs, with some excellent bargains.
You are going to visit The Kasbah, which was built by Moulay Ismail, is now practically a ruin and located next to it is the great mosque. Although the old medina is small, you’ll find souks offering an array of goods.
You will head to the Jewish quarter behind the jewellery souk. Only thenyou’ll get a feel for the difference in style between it and the main Arab town.

After visiting the city, our driver is going to take you to Rass-Alma water source. It can be said that the source of Ras el ma is the corner stone that led to the construction of the town of Chefchaouen. This source has been and remains the only drinking water provider in the city. In the past, it was the source of energy for the water mills that littered the two banks of the spring. It also had the merit of irrigating the farms that stretched throughout its current. The is going to be the last spot in your excursion in Chefchaouen.our driver will take you to your next destination.

RABAT EXCURSION
Introduction to the excursion of Rabat:
Morocco’s capital is located north of Casablanca on the Atlantic coast and the left bank of the mouth of BouRegregRiver, opposite the town of Salé. Rabat is the great political and administrative centre of the country, where are located the Royal Palace, government agencies and embassies. Surrounded by ramparts, the Kingdom’s capital has an important architectural heritage with its many monuments like the gates in the remparts of the CasbahOudaïa, the minaret of the Hassan Tower (12th century), which is 55m in high, only remain of this mosque destroyed by Lisbon earthquake in the XVIth century, and near the city, the Chellah necropolis. The city is home to several museums (archeology, crafts).

Details about the excursion of Rabat:

In the morning our driver will take you from Fez to Rabat on the highway. Then you will start your excursion in Rabat as follows:

1 Chellah

The remnants of the 14th-century Merenid citadel-town of Chellah are an atmospheric place. Chellah thrived as a Merenid citadel in the early 14th century. The crumbled ruins of mosques and mausoleums they built here are now covered with rambling brambles, providing nesting sites for storks. The excavated Roman part of the site includes a forum, bath, and temple. For a good overview of the entire Chellah ruins, an overlooking terrace provides excellent views across the site.

2 Oudayas Kasbah

Rabat’s Kasbah district is one of the city’s top sightseeing draws. Inside the 11th-century fortress walls, a tranquil and tiny neighborhood of twisting white-and-blue lanes were built in Andalusian-style. Don’t miss visiting Rue el Jamma within the district, where you’ll find the Kasbah Mosque. Built in 1150, this is the oldest mosque in Rabat.

2 Hassan Tower

Built by the Almohads, the unfinished Hassan Tower was the work of ruler Yacoub al-Mansour and would have been the minaret for his grand vision of a mosque on this site. Upon his death in 1150, construction was abandoned, and this 45-meter-high tower is all that remains of his original plan.

3 Mausoleum of Mohamed V

The glittering Mausoleum of King Mohammed V lies in state on the very place where, upon his return from exile in Madagascar, he gathered thousands of Moroccans together to thank God for giving independence to their country. The opulent tomb chamber is resplendently decorated, with zelligetilework covering the walls around the grand marble tomb.

5 Oudaias Museum and the Andalusian Gardens

Within the Oudaias Kasbah are the lovely Andalusian Gardens, which were laid out in the early 20th century. The Oudaias Museum, set within the gardens, is housed in the opulent 17th-century lodge built by Moulay Ismail as his first Rabat residence. At the far end of the lodge, a room displays an ancient Moroccan interior. Cushions in brocade, silk, and gold cover the divans around the room. A little further on is an exhibit of ancient illuminated Qur’ans, jewelry, pottery, and musical instruments.

After seeing all this, you will go back to Fez on the national way to change the view.

14/10/2017

Meknes is one of Morocco’s imperial cities, founded in the 11th century by Moulay Ismail. It will give you a genuine sense of Morocco’s past. It is a home to multiple historical and cultural attractions. This city located about 64 km away from. Fez, this northern city has a seasonal climate. But beware, one thing is the same year-round—the nights are cold. Daytime temperatures rise from anywhere between 10 and 14 degrees Celsius. So don’t let the summer months fool you. You’ll need a jacket even in August.

Details about Meknes excursion:

In the morning, our driver will pick you up from your place and head towards Meknes. On your way you will come across Volubilis, which is a partly excavated Berber and Roman city in Morocco away from Meknes for about 32Km. The Roman city has its capitol, its triumphal arch of Caracalla, its thermal baths, its basilica and its main artery lined with villas with precious mosaics. Volubilisis on the Unesco World Heritage List.

MoulayIdrissis a city in the north spread over two hills at the base of Mount Zerhoun, the holy city of MoulayIdrissZerhoune holds a special place in the heart of the Moroccan people. It was there that MoulayIdrisswas arrived in 789, bringing withhim the religion of Islam, and starting a new dynasty. In addition to the founding of the city named after him, he also initiated Construction of Fez, later, pursued by his son, MoulayIdriss II.

After reaching Meknes, yourexcursionis mainly is going to be based on visiting the following culturally and historically valuable places:

HriSouani: The most esteemed building of Meknes. It is remarked by his impressive dimensions, formed in two parts: the water house and the part covered with the monument and the attics. Not

very far, you can find Habs Kara «Kara Prison» constructed by Moulay Ismail. This building is endowed with impressive and unique architecture inMorocco.

Place El-Hedim: Built by Moulay Ismail for public executions and royal announcements, this structure is now the heart of the Medina. It’s the perfect place to kick your feet up and people watch. Visit one of the cafes within the square, where you can order some mint tea and listen to local musicians playing for tips.

Bab El-Mansour—a massive, international renowned entrance—is one of the most intriguing parts of Place el-Hedim. It’s the most impressive of all Moroccan gates. Completed in 1732 byMoulayIsmali’s son, the gate has been well preserved. Although you can only walk through the gate on special occasions, it’s worth a snapshot or two while you’re walking around the market.

Of course, like most other cities in Morocco, the souks of Meknes are a must-see. In the Meknes souks you’re free to wander around aimlessly, taking in all the sights, sounds and smells.

The Dar Jamaï museum has been used for various purposes in the past. Built in 1882 to house the Jamai family (who had connections with Moulay el-Hassan), the building was then used as a military hospital until 1912. In 1920 it became the Museum of Moroccan Art. It now houses intricate pieces of art, like traditional ceramics, jewelry, embroidery and rugs.

The Mausoleum of MoulayIsmail would be another sight to see while visiting Meknes. After traveling through several peaceful entrance courtyards, you will remove your shoes and pay a fee. The tomb and surrounding rooms are meant to be places of quiet and tranquility. Non-Muslims are not allowed to approach the tomb itself, but they are allowed to take photos of the lavish and intricate decor.

Fez is a millennial city that has been found by Idriss 1st in 789 A.H. It is unlike any other city because it represents the spiritual and cultural centre of Morocco, and one of the capital cities of the Islamic civilization. Morocco’s cultural and historical capital, Fez is a city of treasures, both hidden and obvious. The city boasts elaborate architecture in its many mosques and madrasas, and the enticing labyrinth that is the old medina for which the city is predominantly known. Here’s our guide to some of the best things to do in the rich city of Fez.

Details about your visit to Fez:

Your excursion will start out of the city up on two culminant towers that offer a panoramic view of Fez in general; Southern Borj (Tower) was constructed by sultan Ahmed Al-Mansour and NothernBorjthat has been transformed to a museum of arms. A little bit beneath, there is the grandiose ruin of Merinides graves, which also offers a magnificent view over the entire city. . Walking through the alleys the list of monuments annonces :

Fes el-bali: Explore the old medina:By far the best to do when visiting Fes is explore the markets in the old part of town. Start at the top of the market, at what is famously known as Bab Boujaloud thanks to the huge and beautiful ‘door’ to the medina. This area is the most touristy, so expect higher prices and more attention from people wanting to guide you or invite you into their restaurant. For those looking for the true Morocco, venture down into the labyrinth like streets; on top of the colourful displays of traditional Moroccan shoes, clothes, and pottery, further down the market it becomes almost like a live museum, with people hand crafting everything from plates to wooden tables.

Al-Qarawiyyin Mosque and University are located at the bottom of the steep hill decline leading from Bab Boujaloud. For well over 1200 years, Al-Qarawiyyin has been a leading spiritual and educational center in the Muslim world. Built in 867AD, the Al-Qarawiyyin mosque was one of the medieval period’s most distinguished universities. UNESCO has termed this the oldest university in the world, so it is definitely worth a visit.

Tannery: Fes is famous for its clothing and fabrics, and the tannery is a demonstration of just where all of this comes from – with a strong smell and intriguing, colorful views, the tannery tells a story of the creation of everything from purses to dresses, and even bags. Afterwards, you will no doubt be shown a variety of products created from this very tannery and its wonderful resources.

The Old Madrasas:Madrasa means school in Arabic, and there are many old and historic madrasas in Fes. One is located just next to the Qaraween mosque. Another example of the fine Merenid architecture, Madrasa Al-Attarine has stood since 1325 and boasts a beautiful courtyard displaying the intricate decoration of this period. Another Madrasa is Madrasa BouInania, and is the finest of Fez’s theological colleges. Built between 1350 and 1357, this Madrasa recently underwent renovationUnique to this school is its mosque, complete with a green tiled minaret: another stunning piece of architecture.

Mellah (Jewish quarter):TheMellah is a great insight into the once vibrant history of Judaism in the city. Home to the gold market and some of the best antique furniture shops, the Jewish quarter is tucked away near the gates of the Royal Palace. This atmospheric part of the city also hosts a beautiful synagogue with a collection of objects portraying Moroccan Jewish life, as well as a Jewish Cemetery.

Visit a Hammam:With over 250 hammams dotted around the city, Fes is indeed one of the best places to enjoy this traditional Moroccan experience. Sometimes off-putting to the western visitor, a visit to a hammam, or local bath house, will involve stripping down and lots of naked bodies, although males and females are separated. Typically, a masseur – also naked – will scrub you down very intensely, giving you what will no doubt be the most thorough wash of your life.
