I love proving people wrong... Not in the "ha! I told you so" way.
But more of, I know you're thinking you're being treated right, but for goodness sake's let me show you what you're missing.

One of the things that really motivate me, is knowing our process works, and it works extremely well!

The photo and video are from a customer who thought he was getting good service. Turns out, they were simply making the carpet wet and it temporarily looked like it was clean. We did a test patch to show him how much dirt was really there… a before and after, and the results of the test.

The water was just from a 10x10' area.

A special thank you to The Bowman Restaurant, for giving Chesapeake Flooring Solutions the opportunity to demonstrate our multi-stage, Carpet Restoration service in their banquet room.

The carpet in this space had seen its share of abuse from food and drinks being spilled during comedy club performances and special functions throughout its life. Replacing it would be a costly and intrusive option.

Chesapeake Floorings cleaning service stepped up to the challenge, and applied its professional methodology to breathe new life back to this well used space. Going far beyond most carpet cleaning companies, we incorporated a combination of the right chemicals, proper dwell time, agitation, specialized extraction, and grooming to get these spectacular results.

The banquet room turned out beautifully. The carpet looks like new and is ready for the next phase in its life. The Bowman Restaurant has a great space for more functions and some pretty awesome burgers too!!! Thanks OJ!

Another beautiful hardwood Installation. This time at the luxurious Ritz Carlton at the inner Harbor, Baltimore. This customer has chosen a sumptuous BR 111, African walnut, hardwood floor. The wide planks run the length of the rooms with those beautiful long boards.

We made some changes to the stairs, and the railing. Installed new wood throughout the entire 2nd floor, sanded, stained and finished the whole house....

I love showing the differences between before - and after. However in this case, this customer had their usual cleaning company in the DAY BEFORE we took care of this. Technique and time make a huge difference. Why spend money to have the dirt left deep in the carpet...

Fall is probably the best time to get new flooring!
The weather lends itself to perfect conditions for practically every flooring installation there is; Not too hot - Not too cold!

You can leave the windows up to vent the house, incase they are using an adhesive that your nose doesn't agree with. The carpet will stretch without having to put the heat on in the space. It's typically drier, so less likelihood of a trail of mud throughout the place!

The best part, however, is the fact that you have a fresh new look going into the holiday season. The cozy feel of having your space "just right" for family and friends.

Some of you folks might remember a TV commercial a while ago, that had the tag line, "you can pay me now, or you can pay me later..." it had to do with oil filters on your car, and it referred to using quality parts and regular MAINTENANCE. I loved how it put you on the spot with making a decision about spending a little more now, so you don't have to spend much more (Huge repair bills, or replacing a car) later.

Well guess what... The same statement can be said about your CARPET and how you take care of it!

All carpet will wear out. it's inevitable. Carpets gets dirty, carpets gets stained, soiled, crushed, and then uglies out to the point that we have to replace them. To prevent this, (or, shall I say, prolong this) you call in the professionals!!! (ME) We whip out impressive machines, sprinkle magic fairy spray on the carpet, suck up the goo, (making sure we show you the dirty tank) then off we go! Your carpet is as good as NEW!

or so you think...

By the time you call in the pros, your carpet is already irreparably damaged! Dirt Kills Carpet! If you have traffic patterns or crushed areas, you have lost carpet fiber. There is no bringing this back to "Like New"!

The solution is, Clean your carpet! DUH, but there is a right way and a wrong way.

Wrong Way: 1. Vacuum once or twice a week when you see actual stuff on the floor, and 2. When you can't bear to look at the dirty stains any longer... Call in a pro to steam clean.

Right Way: 1. Vacuum DAILY. Make sure your housekeeping crews keep up with this simple task, and change the bags in your vacuum cleaners. This will keep dirt and grit from collecting at the bottom of the fibers where they can do some REAL damage.
2. Adopt a regular carpet Maintenance program. Low Moisture Encapsulations work with your regular vacuuming to keep the carpets from setting dirt stains. (Note: DO NOT BONNET CLEAN! this little action will VOID YOUR WARRANTY! I mean it! call me if you have questions)
3. Scheduled hot water extractions every 6 - 9 months.This will deep clean the carpets, help reset the twist in the yarn and refresh the color and pile.

By taking an active approach to your carpet Maintenance you will extend the life of the carpet, and avoid the "Pay me later" portion for many YEARS!!!

I hear it again, and again... Adam! What can I put in the basement that can be ok if I get a leak, or a flood down there?!?!

How about wood? Personally I love the look of a wood floor in the lower level... However, I don't like replacing it after a Nasty rain has let water in the basement and ruined thousands of dollars of precious hardwood. So what do you do?

Well, the flooring seen here, addresses that issue beautifully. The flooring you were looking at is not hardwood. It's an LVT. That stands for Luxury Vinyl Tile. The looks today are so realistic to hardwood and ceramic, that you would have a hard time knowing the difference without very close inspection. You get the durability and the warm feeling of today's modern vinyl floor with the look of premium hardwood. The plus side being, after the floor is laid, and large amounts of water are introduced, you simply peel back the tiles, dry out the floor, and lay them back down. If you keep a few extras in the attic, you can easily replace damaged ones as well.

A fantastic alternative to the old classic, the Berber basement carpet...

One of these fuzzy beauties is a "Berber" carpet. Do you know which one? Did you pick the picture with the front door? Congratulations! You are Wrong! But don't fret, you are not alone... take a close look at these two. The living room is the actual berber and the front door scene is a loop.

When the word Berber is mentioned, two things usually happen. 1. you make a face, I know...I've seen it... 2. You think, rough, plasticky, speckled, loopy stuff mom had in her basement. It doesn't have to be this way...

Berber carpet is probably not what you think it is. It's defined as a beige field carpet with color fleck. ANY beige carpet with a color fleck... that means you can have Berber carpet with the fuzzy twist - the way you like it! Twisty, deep pile, soft, and scrumptious, or in a daring Frieze (we will talk about that another time), to give it a more casual feel. Berber carpet can also come in the more traditional loop, with a variety of fibers to suit your lifestyle... But once you take the color fleck out of the carpet, all you are left with is loops... Just loops.

Question; What is warm underfoot, naturally water resistant, 100% sustainable, naturally sound deadening, dent and crush resistant, and looks REALLY cool?

CORK!

This is NOT your peg board you had in high school made into tiles and slapped on the ground... Today's cork flooring is high tech, design savvy, and built for performance. The inherent qualities of cork make it a great choice for people who want a hard surface, without it being a bit "too hard". Perfect for kitchens... Drop a glass on ceramic? You have a broken glass! Drop on cork, and you have a solid chance of it making it back to the dishwasher. How "Green" is cork? Cork is the ONLY product that is harvested with the intent to not harm the tree from which it was cut. In fact, cork can be continually harvested from the same tree, every 9 years, for its entire 150 year life span. Can't do THAT with bamboo!

I know what you're thinking... "Wow! Pretty wood floor!" Right? Well... not so much. This is a beautiful floor is Porcelain Tile. There are situations where real wood is not an option, and this look is a viable alternative. If you look closely, you will notice the lack of a grout joint. This is achieved by using a rectified tile. Each tile is Exactly the same size as the other and the edges are remarkably straight, giving you the option of grout joints as small as 1/16" or none at all. (note* you will be paying more for your installation for this. Not every installer can lay tile this straight... you need a GOOD one!) With the tile butting tight against each other the wood look is stunning. Cheers!
