Perfect to explore on a Sunday or throughout these school holidays, the stunning Maroochy Regional Bushland Botanic Garden, including the Arts and Ecology Centre, is set amongst 82 hectares of eucalypt and riparian forest, with creeks, lagoons and walking tracks. Truly a must-see for all ages and abilities.
No dogs or other domestic animals are allowed in the Gardens and please do not feed the native fauna.

Take an easy-going guided walk through the spectacular Sculpture Garden at the Maroochy Botanic Gardens. Showcased within eighty-two hectares of eucalypt and riparian forest, with creeks, lagoons and multiple walking tracks, this is a must-do walk.

SUNDAY ADVENTURE: Conondale National Park, Booloumba Falls walk (3km return)
Head to the hinterland for the day and walk to the absolutely stunning Booloumba Falls, one of the highlights of the Conondale Range Great Walk.
This walk is suitable for walkers with some experience. Dogs are not permitted in this state government national park.
By the time you reach the Booloumba Falls carpark, you’re at 500m above sea level. Take a short but very beautiful downhill walk to the falls, cascading past a rock pinnacle nicknamed the breadknife for its serrated razor formation. It’s probably the most impressive part of the Conondale Range Great Walk complete with a great lookout, bubbling brook and sublime swimming holes along the way (albeit a little too cold to actually swim in right now). ANY DAY ADVENTURE: Alex Forest Conservation Walk – 1.5km
This gorgeous little hidden gem is a surprisingly quiet and varied bushland reserve just metres from the surf at Alexandra Beach.
The trail is suitable for walkers – it is gravel/dirt, rises gently and has some well-spaced steps so is not suitable for wheelchairs or prams. Dogs are welcome on a leash.
