Luna Lux LLC, a California company, is excited to announce that Richard Chamblin has assumed the role of CEO, effective October 1st, 2023. Luna Lux has had a very strong recovery from 2020 and, because of that success, has decided to expand its corporate leadership. Phillip W. Powers will continue his responsibilities in the role of COO, and Theodore Gordon will remain the company’s CFO.
Richard has over 13 years of experience as an executive. He has designed, developed, produced, and managed over 125 live theatrical productions, 33 theme park attractions, and 22 museums for clients that include Universal Studios Parks and Resorts, SeaWorld, Disney, YouTube, Google, Marvel Studios, Lionsgate Entertainment, Sesame Street, Smithsonian Institution, Busch Gardens, Proctor and Gamble, and Cunard.
“Co-founders Phill and Theo have built an incredible company, and I am honored to be taking over as CEO. Phill and I have had the opportunity to work with one another over the years, and I couldn’t be more excited to continue to grow this company and lead its wonderful team of owners,” says Richard Chamblin.
“Earlier this year we brought Richard on as a partner and began exploring ways to grow our executive leadership. With our growth it became obvious I needed to spread out my responsibilities. I have been juggling more roles than fit on a card, and he became an obvious candidate for our CEO,” says Phill Powers. “When Theo and I started Luna Lux, I never imagined where that journey would take us. We’ve been so lucky to have such growth since we began in 2012 and we both knew we needed to expand our executive leadership.”
As COO, Phill Powers will continue to oversee the operations of the company, which includes executive oversight of the design, sales, rental, and media production departments. Richard Chamblin’s focus, as CEO, will be on business development and the strategic growth of the company.
