You may have come across my page or seen my website recently and thought “She has not posted anything for a very long time” maybe she is not doing this any more?

Let me assure you that I am very much still working and creating itineraries. It is simply that I realised that most of my clients are not on social media, and the majority of my clients have never even looked at my website and have been working with me for over 12 years.

So, rather than try to juggle various family commitments, looking after my clients, running the business and trying to keep up with things on social media simply because people think I should, I chose to prioritise.

Family first.
Clients second.
Social media is simply not a priority.
Meaning I do not end up overwhelmed and my clients get the attention they rightly deserve.

In case you are curious, in the last few months I have had clients in Australia, the Caribbean - in hotels and one couple on a Silversea cruise, multiple bookings in Spain, Switzerland and Japan. Have booked two South America cruises and one Norwegian cruise and currently working on two VIP groups, one to Lake Como and Paris.

So whilst I am not present on social media, I am very much present for my clients.

This is a little off topic.

It is the story of a man (my husband), who bought a bike in Lockdown so he could do something with his spare time and get some exercise.

He will now cycle from Land’s End to John O’Groats in May, a journey of over 1000 miles, to raise money for the MND Association.

What makes you decide on where to go ?

The country? The people? The hotel? The spa? Local attractions.

Sometimes I just see a photo and think “I want to go there” without a thought for logistics etc.

This hotel spa in Switzerland is one of those places 😜

Apart from looking amazing it is also part of the first completely climate neutral luxury hotel group in Switzerland.

When booking a cruise, always look at the packages and see what is/is not included. For example, most hotels include wifi these days, whereas wifi charges on cruise ships can be somewhat.. astonishing!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Tips (gratuities), if included in the cost of your cruise, can usually be removed on request and you can then leave what you wish.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

If you and your travel companion are partial to an alcoholic beverage or two, the drinks packages are usually a good deal. If you like Premium brands there is usually an additional cost. Another tip for arriving fresh after a flight, and something I do religiously.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Pack a toothbrush and toothpaste in your hand luggage.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

I like to brush my teeth before we land on medium and long haul flights. Because I order a special meal (Vegan), I will be one of the first to be served my meal, so whilst everyone else is being served their breakfast, I can pop to the washroom and avoid the post-breakfast queues. (and then sit looking smugly at the people in the queue, childish of me? you try it and see if you don't feel smug :-) )⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Hotel Vira Vira in Pucon is owned by Claudia and Michael Paravicini, who moved to Chile from Switzerland when Michael retired from banking at the grand old age of... 49!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

They took their time to find the perfect place in a region that is predominantly owned by the Mapuche people. And just look at it. See why it is on my list ?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

I even have a list of hotels that I would love to visit :-)⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

A glimpse of a group of 1500 Indonesian islands.

Here you will find waterfalls, jungles, secluded beaches and hidden lagoons.

The marine life is incredible making it a diver’s paradise.

Now picture yourself here on your own private boat, this private boat in fact, with your family or friends.

There is a bit of a theme to my wish list isn’t there 😁.

Set in a remote mountain location in Belize there are just 20 bedrooms surrounded by waterfalls, beautiful turquoise pools and an organic garden.

For the active there is hiking, biking, canoeing, guided river tubing, horse riding and plenty of caves to visit.

The have no air conditioning and all the rooms are designed to maximise the air flow. They use biodegradable washing products, and are Rainforest Alliance verified ❤️🌱

This is your private 4 bedroom villa in the Seychelles, so the only bodies swimming above your head would be people you travelled with to this tropical paradise.

Want to do everything you can to step off your flight feeling good, especially a long haul trip?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Avoid alcohol and caffeine, both will add to the dehydration you will experience in flight. They will dry your skin and stress your body, yes I know, it relaxes you, but flying takes its toll on your body, so if you want to step off at the other end feeling the best you possibly can? Leave both for when you arrive at your destination.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
For optimum hydration, try to drink a good glass or two of water every hour when travelling long haul. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
If you can take your own water bottle with you on the aircraft, even better, less plastic heading for the waste bin.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

So today I would like you to meet Paolo and Philip from along with three of their five dogs, I imagine Georgina might be resting as it was her 1st birthday yesterday and she might be exhausted, and I like to think that the 5th dog is perhaps sneaking some biscuits that Paolo made for them recently.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

The fact that Paolo loves to cook, is evident from their Instagram account, go check it out! In fact, I am going to make his mother's Tuscan salt recipe soon.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

In a past life Philip was a set designer on projects like Four Weddings and a Funeral, The Vicar of Dibley and many more. Paolo's love is hospitality.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
20 years ago they poured their combined passions into Fontelunga which is a gorgoues villa/hotel, with concierge services near Cortona in Tuscany.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

There is the 9 bedroom Villa Fontelunga, which can be taken as individual bedrooms, or for exclusive use, including breakfast. Villa Gallo is a 2 bedroom property and Villa Galletto, which is a one bedroom property, both are self catering.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Look what I found!

So this is us, on that trip to Milan and Lake Como 9 years ago in August. We had only met the month before, and this was our first trip together. The photo was taken by a couple on their honeymoon ❤️

Photo 3 you should recognise by now as the although it is a poor shot taken at a bad angle I still remember thinking how wonderful it looked.

It is important to keep your travel dreams alive, even if it takes years to do them ❤️

How I spent my morning, truffle hunting in Le Marche, Italy. Followed by freshly made wholewheat fettucine with truffles and local wine for lunch. Le Marche is not a region I was familiar with, and this trip has been a real eye opener. The scenery is spectacular, the food is delicious, lovely people, and fabulous views in every direction. I shall be back 😍

Two weeks, two familiarisation trips. Week one I was in Scotland enjoying what is a magnificent location, Gleneagles. Have you been? Week two I was at Brenners Park Hotel and Spa in Germany, which is part of the Oetker Collection. Familiarisation trips are an amazing privilege where I go and check out hotels so I can then recommend them to my clients, and I 100% recommend both of these if you've not yet been!

All in the name of research 😁 Learning how to drive a Land Rover Defender off-road at Gleneagles. I never knew that driving a Defender was so different to driving a regular car !
