Age of Mountains Join us and conquer a mountain a month. Check out our upcoming expeditions on our website. This is THE Age of Mountains. We’re hiking because we want to.

Right now, more of us are hiking more than any other time in history. We are not hiking because we need to, like when nomads or traveling salesmen were looking to work. So much so that some of us may consider hiking a deep passion, and in that case, we may well indeed feel the “need” to hike. At the Age of Mountains, we are a collective of hikers and climbers who seek adventure out of thin air…on

the top of mountains. We thrive on trekking through blizzards with sleet in our eyes, blisters on our feet, and civilization behind us. "A Mountain a Month" is our aim. But we want you with us too. We'd enjoy having you join us on one of our hikes. You can find out where to meet up with us by liking our page and following through to our website.

Sunday, January 27, 2016, 12:23 p.m. – The summit was still out of sight, but we felt its proximity. The cold, thin air raced around us as it pushed us away from the peak. Leaning into the mountain to maintain our balance, we gripped our ice axes tighter and drove them into the tough ice.

"October 25th, 11:56 AM - So many rocks. So many damn, slippery rocks. We weren't expecting ice at the top, but we were enjoying this challenge of grabbing hold of anything that resembled solid ground on this icy terrain. The frozen cliffs of Katahdin want to claim us. We weren’t about to let that happen. No matter how slow, we shuffled our way forward."

Check out our hike from last fall at Bear Mountain, CT and Mt. Race, MA.

Twenty miles in the height of fall with the Age of Mountains crew.

Mountain Men on this Hike: September 28th. 12:46 PM - We're nine miles in at this point. Nature has exposed much of itself to us today. We are spoiled by her beauty and in awe of the serenity. Two hawks circle above and occasionally give us a show by snapping up its prey. We struck gold today with the weather. Only a mile to go until the summit of Mount Race. [ 1063 more words. ]

December 21st, 2013 – 11:24 AM Closing in on the summit now. Snow drifts to my left and right. Oh and also in our eyes. Not one of use brought goggles. The forecast didn't predict conditions like this. The mountain seems to swallow our legs in… [ 949 more words. ]
