We were asked by the Architect for thecubes.co to write a reference for his new website and we thought we should reproduce it on our site. Well done Juan.

It was as though we were destined to meet.

We had acquired a property in the main street of one of the most eco minded, self-sustaining, alternate minded towns in the world, Nimbin, in Northern NSW, Australia, sister city to Woodstock USA, and we wanted to create overnight traveller accommodation that harmonized with the philosophical aspirations of the people and the ‘be kind to the earth’ hippy styled, self-sustaining structures that the local community lived and worked in.

We conducted an International Architectural competition outlining our design requirements and were rewarded with over 36 entries from around the world. Juan’s response immediately stood out. His portfolio of the efforts of his creative energy to make professional interpretations of many different client’s briefs was our starting point and we built from there.

Juan’s academic training also enabled supplying the complete work needed from design right through to the architectural drawings needed for submission to our relevant Planning Authorities for construction approval.

‘thecubes.co’ is now a real object, able to be duplicated in many different locations with future design innovations that will make each development unique to their setting. I look forward to working with Juan for ‘thecubes.co’ No2, No3 and on and on.
