My Secrets To Ageless Enthusiasm

I am always known among my friends for being young at heart. I believe age is just a number. And my friends always admire me for staying this way, even in my late 40s. Of late, many youngsters have also been asking me how I make this possible. So here I pen down some of the rules I follow. Have a read, and as you do that ,discover some of my preferred leisure activities in Sydney. To name a few they are a relaxing cruise dining experience aboard one of the Sydney lunch cruises,a scenic stroll at the Royal Botanical Garden and an intriguing visit to the Sea Life Sydney Aquarium, and so on. Let's begin.

Keep Exploring

I am someone who is ready to seize every opportunity to travel. If you look around, you will see that there's a lot out there that is worth exploring. This is one quality all of us should have- Be it in terms of discovering something or travelling. This has allowed me to visit different countries and meet people from various walks of life. As a people person, I can make anyone comfortable, irrespective of age, gender, and nationality. Understanding their cultures, languages, and traditions has been a learning that has always given me goosebumps. It helps me expand my horizons. Every time I do that, I feel like a youngster learning something every day, returning home with some fun memories.

Appreciate Beauty

Sydney is one of the most picturesque cities in the world that has blown the mind of people worldwide. Various iconic attractions like the Sydney Opera House, The Harbour Bridge and the like stole my heart for its breathtaking beauty. But viewing them from one of the Sydney Harbour day cruises on the serene waters under the clear blue sky was a mesmerising sightseeing experience altogether.

Alternatively I remember how excited I was while admiring the Royal Botanic Garden on a free guided walk. As a plant lover, I couldn't stop myself from capturing some stunning photographs of this harbourside attraction, especially the Palace Rose Garden. The elegance and charm made me feel as if I was at some well-decorated wedding venue. Spending time outdoors and admiring the beauty of such touristy spots made me fall in love with this city.

Exercise

I believe exercise is one of the best ways to love ourselves and practise self-care- It helps me care for my mind and body, and I leave no stone unturned for that. In a city like Sydney, there are numerous avenues, be it indoor gyms, outdoor gyms, fitness studios, or yoga classes. Amongst all those, outdoor gyms are my favourite, for it helps me stay in shape and be amidst greenery.

Mindfulness

I believe every day is a true blessing. So I make it a point to live every moment to the fullest. I experienced this at the SEALIFE aquarium, surrounded by some aquatic friends. The wide array of marine animals mesmerised me as if I was in a dreamland. The spectacular views of cauliflower corals with the clownfish moving around and the jellyfish, turtles, penguins, and much more - Made me realise how beautiful silence and mindfulness can be. Living in the moment and enjoying their company as if I was one among them was pure bliss.

Relaxation

I also give ample rest to my body and mind, especially after doing something challenging or otherwise. This helps me reduce stress, which is important in taking care of both my physical and mental health. It also helps me control ageing. And some of the ways I do this is by practising relaxation techniques like deep breathing and meditation. These also help me maintain healthy skin and a youthful look.

So, now that you've read about my secrets to being young at heart, how are you planning to stay youthful? Let me know in the comments.

Sydney In April - Take Advantage Of Your Time Off Work

It seems like January was just lagging after the New Year celebrations. until February and March went by in a blur – we’re already in April! April is pretty much the best month in the first half of the year, due to its typical laid-backness and the generous amount of holidays that comes along with it. And thankfully, the temperatures are continuing to fall, and ong weekends are coming up, meaning more time to experience the very best of Sydney!

The ANZAC Day dawn ceremony, Easter treats bringing in the hot cross buns, irresistible autumn discounts on cruises, and more – here’s what we will be checking out this month.

Science dinner cruises on Sydney Harbour

Sydney’s autumn nights are as delightful as the days, the cooler temperature adds to the city’s thrilling nightlife and makes for a pleasant evening. If you’re in the mood for some indulgence, then take advantage of the current deals on popular Sydney Harbour dinner cruises. As the sun slowly fades away into the horizon, the city lights start to twinkle one by one, creating a magical ambience that’s both romantic and exciting.

Take to the harbour and glide along the calm harbour waterways, soaking up the autumnal air, and the stunning harbour ambience, before cruising past the lit-up Sydney Opera House and Sydney Harbour Bridge! Settle in for a memorable dining experience right next to this incredible panorama – savour world-class cuisines and pair them with refreshing drinks!

An iconic Easter Show

Perhaps the biggest and most anticipated event of the month would be the annual Sydney Royal Easter Show. Held every year in the Sydney Olympic Park, across the Easter long weekend, this extravagant carnival-like event is a go-to for families looking to have endless fun during the holidays.

Expect the very best of NSW farm produce from the biggest players of the industry, animal shows, motorbike and skateboard stunt shows, woodchopping competitions, fashion shows, numerous carnival rides and games, and everything else you can think of when you picture a massive carnival! But the major magnet for the kids in Sydney is the ever-popular Showbag pavilion, a bag of Easter goodies that can be bought.

Festivals & Markets

April sure ain’t slowing down when it comes to cultural activities and entertainment. Bring some friends and experience the 10th annual Serbian Festival in Pyrmont Bay Park where there is loads of fun for all ages. Fall in love with the Serbian hospitality, and enjoy a ton of live entertainment, music, dancing, laughter, food and drink!

The ladies can get their shopping game on at Round She Goes market, the biggest treasure trove of preloved and classic fashion for women. Exclusive only for just one day, get your gal pals together and browse through a well curated selection of handpicked stalls – discover everything from preloved chic fashion to custom-made jewelries and accessories.

Not-to-be-missed Dawn Services

The national day where we commemorate and pay homage to the heroes who've served and fallen for the good of the country - Anzac Day. Even though there are Dawn Services held throughout the country, I strongly recommend attending the one at Martin Place, and the parade through George Street towards the Anzac Memorial in Hyde Park.

Attending a Dawn Service is a must-do for every Aussie at least once in their lifetime because of the profound sense of pride, solemnity, and respect that permeates throughout the day, unlike any other day of the year. And after the ceremonies, and parades, everyone hits the pub and tries their luck on Two-Up!

Ultimately, April is a wonderful time to relax and explore what Sydney has to offer with your favourite group. The vibrant foliage and the mild weather makes it the perfect time to be outdoors and embrace the scenic beauty of Sydney.

Best Memories From My Trip to Sydney: Travel Blog

When I started travelling back in ‘09, I never knew I’d have ticked off over 26 countries in the span of just 13 years. But for me, it was never actually about the number of new places I visit, rather how I feel after visiting one. The first few places I travelled to, India and Nepal, have an important place in my heart, as it was these two magical destinations that made me fall in love with travelling. As years passed by, I touched down in many new cities and towns, creating new memories every day! Sydney, Australia was a while back so memories are a bit rusty, nonetheless, I’ll try to share about some of my favourite moments in the big harbour city.

First-class views from first-class cruises

When I think about the Emerald City now, after 3 years, the first thing that pops up to my mind is the Sydney Harbour cruise with dinner, views and entertainment. It was an astonishing experience, nothing short of stunning. I remember cruising on the mighty paddlewheeler, which is pretty easy to spot around these parts as it’s the only one. When my friend suggested to me a dinner cruise to best appreciate the city’s night beauty, he wasn’t kidding. The cruise offered incredible visuals of the Opera House, the Harbour Bridge, Luna Park and plenty more, along with a lip-smacking fare! I was overwhelmed with this extraordinary dining experience, in fact I was so impressed that I decided I would check out the lunch cruises on Sydney Harbour as well. And boy was I in for something unique!

Couple of days later I hopped on the lunch cruise, but this time I was more drawn towards the food and drinks! The lunch cruises had a reputation for great food and it was true! Everything from the entrees, mains, to dessert, I admired every single bite. And the beverage upgrades were reasonable, considering the variety of drinks offered. It was a great way to start off a day out in Sydney and will definitely be the first on my next itinerary!

The garden of friendship in Chinatown

Sydney ain’t no joke when it comes to city life. But I'm not a huge fan of it, I like green spaces more. The diversity in Sydney is crazy, like you could be on the shores of Bondi taking in the sun in one minute, then exploring the bustling streets of the CBD in the next ten. The Chinese Garden of Friendship is nestled right in the heart of CBD, and offers its visitors an oasis of serenity to revitalise after hours in the bustling city. What started out as a symbol of friendship between Sydney and Guangzhou, the garden now welcomes anyone, especially the ones looking for a quick escape from the busy city life. The artworks, ponds, small waterfalls, flowers and hidden paths will transport you to another place and time. There is also a tea pavilion for you to sip on some peculiar-flavoured teas!

Exploring with Opal

Being an exxy city, Sydney was always going to take a toll on my wallet so I picked up the Opal card right from the airport as it made it more convenient and more importantly, cost-saving. While there are plenty of trains and buses to help you get to a number of places, the explorer bus can get you as far as Bondi for just $40 and you can get on and off at any stop as many times as you’d like within 24hours. This was a great way to explore the many unspoken parts of the city.

Know What You Eat: My Take on Food Philosophy

There’s something about good food that holds the potential to influence a person’s mood, albeit for the shortest period of time. But cooking ain’t everyone’s cup of tea, is it? Whereas eating sure is, more so because food is one of the fundamentals of life. Lately, I’ve been wondering and reading up a lot about the latest food trends and that’s when I stumbled upon the various food philosophies. So, what’s a food philosophy? It’s a personal outlook about food or a set of guiding principles about how, what and when you should consume food. Here is a 2-minute read that will give you a glimpse into what I personally think about food and habits.

Choose Food That is Real Than What is Convenient

If you’re to ask what kind of food I love to eat, I’d say “the kind of food they serve on board the dinner cruises on Sydney Harbour, specifically on board the famous paddlewheeler showboat. Allow me to explain before you weird out on me. The reason why I mention a cruise here is because they serve real food that is as close to the source as possible. Also ‘cause it comes a close second to the food my mama cooks at home. There are only a few places in Sydney that have my heart for serving real and tasty food without burning a hole through your pocket. Even if cooking ain’t your forte, it would be safe to avoid processed and refined foods, or simply put, convenience foods. The reason is obvious–the unnecessary fats and oils that make it “tastier than other foods”. So, if at all someone comes up to me asking where to dine out in my city, I suggest the dinner and lunch cruises in Sydney for the healthy food they serve. And here’s the pro tip: always choose the kind of food that is closest to the source.

Maintaining a balanced relationship with food

So, what’s your relationship with food? Are you a gym-freak who constantly counts every calorie intake or a self-proclaimed foodie with an unhealthy bodyweight? These might be stereotypes but they point to the two extremes of toxic relationships that people have with food. Funnily enough, I feel obligated to draw parallels between the questions “Which came first, the chicken or egg?” and “do we eat to live or live to eat?” Perhaps I figure it is time that we all analyse our relationship with food and what it does to your body.

Being purposeful with your food choices

It is not always easy to say ‘No’ to food, is it? Especially if it’s something that smells like heaven and makes your mouth water at first sight. The key here is to help yourself to small portions and not be hard on yourself. Also, when you’re attending an event serving good food, it is important to be courteous while making the best choices. I believe that one’s food philosophy is something used to guide one’s choices and not impose upon, judge or criticise what other people eat. Many a time have I come across people who follow rigid rules and be critical of others around them. Why be that person, when all you’ve got to do is simply let other people choose whatever guiding principles work best for them.

Besides these crucial guiding principles I live by, here are some more pro trips that may help you further:
* Learn to cook so that you can save up some extra money, and not to mention, avoid some extra calories too.
* Grow your own veggies. That way you don’t have to worry about pesticides and toxins in your digestive system.
* Keep a tab of what you eat in a day. I mean not counting every calorie…’cause that could be toxic. But knowing what you eat could help you maintain a balanced diet.

Where to Take Your Parents - Best Sydney Attractions

Are you wondering where to take your parents when they’re visiting Sydney? With so much to do and see in the city, trying to find the right things to do with your parents might take a little more effort and imagination than you think. After all, there's only so many times you could take them to the Opera House or Icebergs. Whether they’re still in the planning phase or have already surprised you with a visit, here are a few suggestions to make your parents’ visit worthwhile.

Take it to the waters

A great way to spend time in the harbour is to book one of the popular Sydney dinner cruises. You will get 2-3 three hours of cruising time along the splendid harbour waterways and a chance to enjoy some of the major tourist attractions of the city in one go! You also get to choose from world-class vessels like the paddlewheeler, modern catamarans and glass boats; impress your family with a classy dining experience featuring the finest of food and beverage upgrades.

Even a Sydney Harbour cruise offering lunch is an ideal choice as you will be treated to a slew of harbour attractions including the Opera House, Harbour Bridge and more, under the bright glow of the sun. Top it off with a delicious lunch, and a selection of drinks upgrades and you got yourself an experience worth recalling time and time again!

Sydney from the skies

If your parents are a couple of adrenaline junkies then there’s the perfect and safest thing to do in Sydney and no, it’s not the BridgeClimb. The seaplane ride over Sydney Harbour is one of the most exciting things I have ever done in the city and it’ll be hands down the first thing I’d do with my loved ones. Sydney is known to be one of the most gorgeous-looking cities on the planet and you will appreciate it even more once you hop on this scenic flight tour! Watch from the best vantage point ever as the enchanting landscape of Sydney unfolds right in front of you! You will fly towards the iconic Bondi Beach before coming back for a thrilling loop around the Opera House and Harbour Bridge! Enough said right?!

Swim with sharks!

Sydney doesn’t always get too hot but if it does when your folks are in town, you can check out some of its best air con spots. They will also be ideal if it's raining as well. SEA Life Sydney Aquarium is one of the best places to be for people of all ages; offering a chance to get up close and personal with the likes of rays, dugongs, sharks, turtles and more! This aquarium featuring numerous exhibits, habitat replicas and shows, is one of the hottest attractions in Darling Harbour. The immersive experiences offered here including Day and Night on the Reef, Penguin Expedition and swimming with the sharks, are both thrilling as well as educational. All you need to do is book in advance as they often tend to be sold out.

How about a captivating space journey

Have you ever wondered what the burning bright balls in the night sky revealed about the cosmos? Yes, I'm talking about the stars. Every weekend in the Blue Mountains, you can unravel the mysteries behind these celestial wonders with the stargazing experience led by a professional astrophysicist. With his guidance, not only will you learn more about Australia’s night sky but you will also learn properly to identify and point out the stars and constellations! And with the ripples of waterfalls running nearby, your experience takes new heights!

Sydney’s Most Unique and Fun Dining Spots 2022

Being a city of intriguing diversity, it’s no surprise that Sydney has its fair share of cool and quirky places to dine at. The Emerald City of Australia oozes a laid back atmosphere and is known for its quintessential nightlife, which pretty much sums why most Australians love to travel to this capital every now and then.

It is human instinct to love delicious food and find immense pleasure in dining out at exceptional restaurants, so it is imperative that you go past your usual spots and try out the food at some of these unique dining options in Sydney.

Harbour Cruises

The food scene has been pivotal in Sydney’s tourism going straight back to the top after the pandemic but it’s not just about what’s on your plate anymore. For instance, the Sydney Harbour dinner cruises are an excellent option to cash in an unforgettable night out. You get to cruise past the most captivating sights of the city including the legendary Opera House and Harbour Bridge and whether you're looking to impress your colleagues or looking to lock-in on that second date, this experience will fascinate you. Not just that, you get to treat your pallets to a world of exquisite flavours that draws inspiration from many parts of the planet. This exclusive dining experience gets even better with drinks that can be purchased from the onboard bar, or for a more seamless experience a beverage upgrade will be ideal.

The lunch cruises in Sydney Harbour also offer an incredible variety of dishes and sightseeing opportunities, so if you’re after dining options before the sun goes down, you know where to look.

Karen’s Diner

Couple of years ago if I told you about a restaurant that comes with rude service, you’d skip it, but that can change now. Karen’s Diner in Sydney is arguably the most talked about dining joint in the city right now. Why? It’s full of karens. Even the manager, who is the final boss in this interactive yet unusual experience, is terrible. Why do people love it? Everything about it! The lack of formalities, the excellent food, the open invitation to go off at the staff and also, strange games. This is your ultimate diner where you can blow off some steam after a long day of work and complain about the most minor of inconveniences, because they actually expect you to go full Karen mode! Go have some fun, and maybe even try to break the character of one of your waiters!

SEA Life

A private dining experience inside the SEA Life Sydney Aquarium is your ultimate ticket to a memorable night out. Unique, cool and quirky, this venue offers an amazing underwater backdrop where you can come across hundreds of fish, turtles, sharks and other marine life swimming right before your eyes. There are several packages to choose from such as the many dinner packages which include self-guided tours and drinks. You even get to dine right in the heart of the Great Barrier Reef! And with more than six different locations within the aquarium to choose from, this is an experience worth trying more than once.

Dining in the Dark

No, it’s not sitting alone in your room and eating in the dark while staring at your phone. Psychologists have been at it for some time now. Their studies have proved that over 80% of people eat with their eyes; eliminating this sense will help heighten the other senses and that’s exactly what this unique dining aims at. With blindfolds donned onto you in a candlelight room, you won’t see the food that you ordered, but can focus on the smell and taste–a truly enlightening experience. The menu here is surprising to say the least; a well devised combination of seafood, meat and vegetarian dishes. Head out and surprise your taste buds!
