Day 8 of our trip…Tournon

Day 7 of our trip, we cruised from Avignon to Viviers. We started with a tour of Grignan a 17th century charming little town followed by a tour of a truffle farm and finished our day with a night tour of Viviers well-preserved medieval town thrived in both the Middle Ages and the Renaissance.

Well, today was day 6 of trip to southern France…we’re in Avignon on the Avalon cruise (https://www.cg-travel.com/blog/avalon-waterways-presents-european-rivers/1036), set on the Rhône River and home to Popes' Palace, listed as UNESCO World Heritage site

Today is the 5th day of our southern France trip, Arles during the day and in the evening in Avignon (day 3 of our Avalon river cruise, https://www.cg-travel.com/blog/avalon-waterways-presents-european-rivers/1036 ). The entire experience has been positive…here are some pictures.

Today was our 4th day in and our second day on the Avalon and enjoying ever moment…amazing food, meeting great people and sites are breathtaking as they take us back in history.
Our day started off by enjoying a tasty breakfast on the ship followed by a tour to a local beach and an oysters farm, Camargue Coquillages a company authorised to produce and sell shellfish, in Port Saint Louis, in Camargue. We leaned so much about oysters.

Lunch on the ship follow by well deserved nap 😴, followed by cheese and wine in our cabin…and a walking tour of Arles. Trying to enjoy ever moment!

Today is our 3rd day of our trip in Southern France and the star to our Avalon Active & Discovery on the Rhône 8 day itinerary, https://www.cg-travel.com/search?q=River%20cruise. We had the opportunity to meet some amazing people working on the Avalon and some guests from Canada and the USA.

Travelling within the cities, we opted to take Uber as it was easy and the list expensive compared to local taxis and we took the subway (not recommended to travel by subway late a night especially if your travelling by yourself).

Travelling from Nice to Marseilles… train is a good option, you can also take the bus, rent a car, we opted to take the train, easy, safe and you can enjoy the scenery. Be sure to get to the station with plenty of time…

Day two on our southern France trip...Marseilles a port city has been a crossroads of immigration and trade since its founding by the Greeks circa 600 B.C. At the heart is the Vieux-Port (Old Port), where fishermen sell their catch along the boat-lined quay. Basilique Notre-Dame-de-la-Garde is a Romanesque-Byzantin that overlooks the city.

New regulations effective Sept. 8 will require carriers to either refund passengers or rebook them, at the traveller's choice, if a flight is cancelled or delayed by three hours or more.
