Cuteness overload this morning on with Baby Dassies chilling on the ledge. They are about a month old. Mom was keeping a eye on them. Did You Know : Dassies is considered to be the closest living relative of the largest land mammal, the African elephant, and also of the manatee and dugong 😃.

A First for us! We spotted a Himalayan tahr on ⛰️. They resided in a zoo on the slopes of Table Mountain but in 1936, they managed to escape. could this be the last Himalayan Tahrs on the Mountain?!?! “Since 2000 there have been several attempts to erradicate the population. This due to the erosion they cause and the desire to reintroduce the indigenous klipspringer to the mountain. It was felt that the Tahr was now filling the niche the klipspringer would need to slot into. Since the decision was made there have been at least 2 attempts by sharp shooters to eliminate them”

Today was one of those special touring days when everything just comes together for the guests. We headed to and we were spoiled by the birds showing off. Even got the Spotted Eagle-Owl ,plenty of southern double-collared sunbirds and so much more.

Last week we welcomed back and Vicky! We reconnected in the winelands, tasting the best wines as we do 🍾🥂.Visited in - in and where they got treated to a wine safari 🍇.

Today we were in the Overstrand region doing some birding and enjoying a short hike. The Harold Porter National Botanical garden did not disappoint. Sunbirds and Sugarbirds were plentiful. Even visited our African Penguins.
