Our Journey Through Faro and Lisbon
Faro: A Brief Visit
We recently spent a short time in Faro, a quaint and compact city. While it wasn't our favorite destination, it offered some interesting experiences:
Accommodation: We stayed at Residencial Condado, centrally located but lacking air conditioning. However, the friendly receptionist made up for it.
Sightseeing: We explored the old city, including the harbor and the intriguing Bones Chapel, where the entrance fee was just 2 euros.
Breakfast: Our morning started with coffee and sandwiches from a local shop in the city center, though they only accepted cash, which felt unusual in 2024.
Travel to Lisbon: We took a FlixBus from Faro to Lisbon, costing 20 euros for two people.
Recommendation: Faro is worth a short visit from Lisbon, but we suggest spending more time in the capital. Accommodation is pricier in Lisbon, but the experience is richer.
Lisbon: A Vibrant Capital
Lisbon, with its charm and vibrant atmosphere, offered a more engaging experience:
Accommodation: We stayed at The Masa Hotel Almirante near the Anjos metro station, costing 103 euros per night.
Comparing Cities: While we found Madrid's streets larger and cleaner with friendlier people, Lisbon had its own unique appeal.
Dining:
Late lunch at Pastelaria Nene: The service was lacking, but we enjoyed giraffe beer and Sangria (though we preferred Madrid's).
Evening at Attico (NH Collection Lisboa Hotel): We enjoyed a bottle of sparkling wine for 23 euros at this rooftop bar, despite some service issues.
Sightseeing:
Crossed the 25th April Bridge, with stunning ocean views.
Visited Praça do Comércio and Castelo de São Jorge, with its steep climb.
Explored the beautiful and clean area around Belém Tower and the Monastery of Jerónimos, which we loved.
Lisbon's combination of historic sites, vibrant culture, and beautiful scenery made our visit memorable, despite a few minor hiccups.

About our trip in Malta
Our trip to Malta was an absolute delight, filled with stunning views, delicious food, and memorable experiences. Here's a glimpse into our amazing journey:
We arrived in Malta and quickly took a bus from the airport to our hotel in Gzira, Bayview by ST Hotels a 3* hotel. Our room was pristine, featuring a balcony with a breathtaking view of the sea. The breakfast spread was diverse and delicious, offering cheese, salami, scrambled eggs, boiled eggs, fried eggs, croissants, cereals, yogurt, fruits, and exceptionally good coffee.
For lunch, we stopped at Punto Bar and Dine, where we indulged in sushi and a vegetarian burger. The drinks were on a one-plus-one offer, so we enjoyed Aperol Spritz.
On our first day, we walked from Gzira to Valletta, enjoying the beautiful pedestrian walkway along the seaside that connects the city. We started our exploration with Upper Barrakka Gardens, enjoying a refreshing 500 ml beer for just 3 euros, with the breathtaking view. We took the elevator down. Dinner was at Gourmet Fish and Grill, near to our hotel, where we savored a delectable menu that included a bottle of wine.
The next day, we visited Mdina and Rabat. Mdina, famously known as the filming location for the King's Landing Entrance in Game of Thrones, was a highlight. We had lunch at Orient Market.
Our adventure continued to the Blue Grotto, where we captured some amazing photos. Although we didn't take the boat tour due to the rough sea, the views alone were worth the visit. On our way back, we stopped in St. Julian's and walked through Sliema back to Gzira, enjoying the scenic route. Dinner that evening was at Salt and Pepper Restaurant.
On the last day, we visited Marsaskala and enjoyed a swim at St. Thomas Bay, a lovely sandy beach. Unlike the rocky beaches in the area that we stayed, this beach allowed easy access to the sea. We then headed to Marsaxlokk, where we had a delightful lunch in the harbor at Ill Bukket Restaurant. The seafood
