Update from Universal Orlando Resort.

Good Morning!

We have power. Our room is dry and window still in-tact. Levi is still asleep.

We both are heavy sleepers and can now say we slept through a Cat 3 hurricane.

I’ll look outside in a little while to see what it’s done to resort grounds.

Wind gusts are still around 60+ mph and are supposed to very slowly die down throughout majority of the day.

Update 7pm

Rain is still very light- but I may just still be desensitized from Helene 😵‍💫. Winds are mild but starting to move from gusts to sustained.

Disney Magic is continuing despite Milton raining on our parade (literally). Goofy was dancing with the kids and taking pictures. The arcade is in “free play” mode allowing all the kids to play at no cost.

We got an alert this morning to purchase pre-packaged breakfast and lunch items from the food court for tomorrow. The food court was a madhouse and they couldn’t keep things on the shelves fast enough. I’m very thankful we prepared ahead.

An official announcement came through our phones a few minutes ago stating that we were all required to be in our rooms starting at 8:30 pm as the weather continues to deteriorate. No word on a potential release.

We are already back in our room.

Will post another video update before bed.

Weather Update 3:

It’s now too cold to be in the pool- per Levi.

Steady rain setting in. Heavy breeze at times. Wouldn’t really call them “gusts”.

Longest line I’ve seen today is the hotel bar. Grab and go beer section is empty and one half bottle of wine left on the shelf.

Majority of privately owned store locations are CLOSED and prepped for lots of rain and high winds. Pictured below is what you see in each storefront.

Currently, Rainforest Cafe, Earl of Sandwich, Everglazed, and Gideons are the only food locations open.

The Disney-owned stores (Star Wars Trading Post, Marvel, World of Disney, Once Upon A Toy, etc.) are the only merchandise locations open.
