The city was founded in the early 20th century and since the 1980-90 becoming extensively by American, European and Arab investors to make one of the leading resorts on the Red Sea. With global advertising campaign: "The Red Sea Riviera, where the sun shines all year around" tourism was further tightened.
Geography
Hurghada stretches over a length of approximately 35 km along the coast of the Red Sea. The town consists of several different parts, including:
Sakkala: the modern tourist center;
Dahar (Downtown): the oldest part of Hurghada, where the biggest souk of the city sits. The post office and bus station are located there.
The long coastline from Sakkala south, where most hotels are located.
Ahiaa or Ahyaa: the coastline north of Dahar to El Gouna, where locals live and many hotels under construction.
The 'real' Egypt
Besides all that partying, there is the "real" Egypt. This can be found in the Dahar, the oldest part of the city. Here live the locals or you will find the largest souk (market) of Hurghada, where really everything is for sale: colorful clothes and fragrant herbs to hand-painted ceramics.
Divers Paradise Hurghada

Nightlife in Hurghada

A person with rocking personality may find oneself shaking, swing and getting swayed by the throbbing music while tuning into endless music of the discotheques, local pubs, and disco bars that are located in Hurghada. The nightlife in Hurghada is sparkling and lively with several teenagers, who sing, dance and in this manner have fun at these nightclubs. The Marina of Hurgada
Hurghada Marina offers the City of Hurghada a new look, a place where the tourist and also the residents can walk in the afternoon and breath fresh sea air at night away from the noise of Sakala without anybody disturbing.

Adventurers can visit “Rocket bungee” (42 meters high). You can see Hurghada in flight from the height of about 60 meters high.
Those who are tired from walking or are hungry can sit in one of the numerous small restaurants or bars.There are 20+ restaurants and bars with various cuisines. You can have a bite or simply have a rest with a glass of a soft drink, or you can indulge yourselves in ice-cream.
Under the star sky of Hurghada Marina, near the waves swashed in the harbor, you can enjoy not only the walk but also you can spend an evening in Hed Kandi Beach Bar, dance on the dance-ground under the music of famous DJs specially invited for the parties.
To find Hurghada Marina you need to order a taxi from hotel reception (preferably) or stop a cab in the street and ask for “New Marina, Sekkala”. In max 15 min you will arrive to your destination.
When you walk on a Sheraton road, look for street signs in the middle of the street saying Hurghada Marina and showing the direction and distance (350m, 200m).

• Hurghada City Tour

The biggest open air Museum in Africa and Midle East, Sand City Hurghada, made of 42 sculptures and 17 relief by artist from different countries who left a peace of hart and soul in their work.
There project was completed in 7 months and it is a bland of two different concepts; The first one Historical Art, consist of 22 sculptures and 6 relief, represented legends, famous military leaders, characters one of the romances that change the world, Gods… The second part Wonderland Art, consist of 20 sculptures and 11 reliefs, Walt Disney animated characters.
• Hurghada Grand Aquarium
Opens the window to a whole new world of marine life in the Red Sea. It’s one of the most popular tourist attractions in Hurghada, and presents an opportunity to get a glimpse of the attractive marine life. Hurghada Grand Aquarium is the perfect place to educate guests about the habitats of these magnificent sea creatures, and the formations of the famous Red Sea. It is very well preserved, and properly show cased.
