Adventure out to Flying Fox Hole on the Dunham river. Beautiful waterhole with lovely wildlife. Came across the abandoned Flying Fox aboriginal community, harsh environment for anyone to live in, no wonder theres no one there anymore.

Half Arsed trip out to Parry Creek road for the day. No Barra caught, a cheeky wallaby that almost got eaten by a croc, and then a very painful catfish spike to top it all off..

Half Arsed trip out to Spring Cave and the Keep river with John and Ros Haenig, a couple of barra caught, few croc sightings.. happy days.

Our journey to Kununurra is complete.. arrived to no caravan park booking, apparently lost in the system, 4 years at the same park with an ongoing booking for 3 months every year.. not this year 😡 rant over..
Anyway, decided to take our van out bush and see how it goes in the dirt.. remarkably well!!! Only fatality was that someone forgot to turn the water pump off and let’s say we cleaned the floor whilst travelling 😂 Stay turned for our Ord river/Kimberley adventures..

Started off foggy and 8 degrees ended up fine and 28, the countryside across to Mount Isa certainly looks different after the rain.

Took a walk up the Ganoonga Noonga lookout.. quite a steep 900m climb up a lot of beautiful mossy covered steps, to a lookout that looks the wrong way.. I expected sea views! Yep Darren waited in the car 😂

Yep... today was a true half arsed adventure. First, we left late (around 11) because there was a festival parade on, and the street would be blocked off, well apparently its on next weekend .. 😂
Second, Get to the boat ramp.. hmm no safety gear.. 😳 oh well, we’ll take a chance.. just going to put pots in and mooch about, won’t stay out long.
Third, low tide is at 2.30, loads of sandbars in the river, we’ll just go upstream a little bit to have a little fish before we check the pots again. Sure....
Fourth, uh-oh, it’s now 4.30pm, tide still not coming back in, we are landlocked 🤣🤣 had to get out and drag the boat several times before we made it back... at sunset 🌅
Doesn’t matter, we’ll get said pots back tomorrow morning 😳😆

Spent the day out in Eurimbula National park... yep, another half arsed adventure, rained and low tide, not good for fishing today 🙄 Really nice camping spot out here.

Read this today on another post and totally agree! Definitely a half arsed adventure observation for travelling!

- the more space you've got the more s**t you'll take. And the more water you carry, the more you will use.

- travel is the BEST education (that goes for kids and adults)

- you meet the best people on the road

- white clothes are never a good idea

- traffic is a modern form of torture. Ditto for large crowds.

- kangaroos and crocodiles are stupider than they look

- the best places are found at the end of a dirt road

- a swim in the ocean/a river is a totally acceptable substitute for a shower

- you do NOT need a 4 bedroom house and a high paying job to be happy.

- ANYONE can do this. You just have to find your way past your excuses, your fears, and your "what ifs"

- less 'stuff' = more appreciation for the things you do have

- this country we live in is absolutely bloody amazing. Get out there and experience it!!!
