Among my Fathers things. (Harry William Burchell)

Removing photos from a small album which had belonged to my Great Grandfather William Ward, who was the Lighthouse Keeper at Cape Point lighthouse during the mid 1800's. I found these pictures. I removed them from the album to find two handwritten notes behind them. (I would assume in his handwriting.) To do with the construction of the new Lighthouse, which would have taken place during his time there. The x noted on the first photo is where the new Lighthouse was to be erected. My Great Grandfather, William Ward and his family. Taken at Cape Point Lighthouse in the mid 1800's, He was the Lighthouse Keeper. My Grandmother back row, third from the left. They had 13 children. Three of them boys. Two of the boys died at a young age and are both buried at the Lighthouse. (Belinda Burchell)
