Striking Attitudes is a professional dance theatre company based in Cardiff, South Wales creating work and opportunities for older dancers 50+. We aim to provide approachable theatrical dance that welcomes both experienced and new dancers. In recent years much of our work has been with the older dancer – professional and community – through dance classes, workshops, live performances and film. We

welcome you to join us and to share our experiences. Caroline Lamb is one of the key figures in Welsh Dance and has a wealth of experience working for man years as a freelance choreographer, movement director and dancer. Originally trained at Dartington College of Arts, Devon as both dancer and actor, her work as a choreographer encompasses a wide range of styles but is essence dramatic and theatrically based and has been seen throughout the UK, Europe, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. Janet trained professionally in ballet and contemporary dance. Following an independent performance based career working with such diverse companies as Moving Being and the Welsh National Opera, she turned to teaching and now works in a variety of community and educational contexts. Aleksandra Nikolajev Jones join us as a Creative producer in 2019. She is classically ballet trained, dancer, choreographer and producer in theatre, TV and film. Anne has spent over twenty-five years working in marketing and media relations. She has worked with arts organisations in the USA and in Wales. Anne has been Project Manager for Striking Attitudes for seven years.

The BOND Project is designed to foster stronger community connections through the power of dance and creative movement. Working with older adults and community groups, we aim to build bonds, encourage collaboration, creativity and mutual understanding.

We’re excited to invite you to the launch of the BOND Project on October 25th at YMA Shelley Hall, 5:30 - 7:00 PM. Discover a beautiful evening of dance, poetry, films, and photography – all inspired by the Welsh blanket. 🧶✨

It’s a FREE event, open to all, celebrating creativity and connection within our community. 💫

Teaser, but not a spoiler of our UNDERCOVER production at Chapter supported by Cyngor Celfyddydau Cymru | Arts Council of Wales UNDERCOVER is a new, large-scale work from Striking Attitudes. A promenade performance, exhibition and dynamic multimedia presentation of dance, theatre, photography, poetry, video, music and textiles. Featuring an incredible line-up of creative practitioners from across Wales including Michal Iwanowski, Iestyn Tyne, Llio James, Dan Swain, Becky Davies and Marega Palser, UNDERCOVER is led by Artistic Director, Caroline Lamb, with Janet Fieldsend, Aleksandra Nikolajev Jones, June Campbell Davies, Geraldine Hurl and Dawns i Bawb.
