Today is my 36th wedding anniversary and as an organizer I thought it would be a good time to talk about a question I hear a lot “What do I do with my wedding dress”?👰

This is my wedding dress circa 1988. I am sure the puffy sleeves gave it away LOL😂
It has yellowed, has a few stains but when I put it on all these years later it brought back so many memories. Boxed wedding dresses are something I see a lot when organizing clients and although they may not want it anymore its so hard to LET IT GO.

Here are a few meaningful and creative ways to repurpose an old wedding dress:

1. Create Heirlooms: Use the fabric to make christening gowns or other items for future generations

2. Create Something New: One of the latest trends is to remake your mom’s wedding dress into a rehearsal dinner dress. A talented seamstress can turn the dress into something new

3. Donate to a Good Cause: Many charities, such as Brides Across America or Angel Gowns, accept wedding dress donations. Some organizations use the fabric to create gowns for babies who passed away, while others offer the dresses to brides in need

5. Sell It: If you’re ready to part with it, selling it can allow someone else to enjoy the dress for their special day

Today I’m showing you a few of my favorites and how I used them to create an organized space✨

1. Montauk baskets are great in any room in the house! I love using them in closets with my favorite labels.

2. I use Elfa drawers so often to get areas organized I think I could put them together in my sleep. Great quality and comes in a variety of sizes.

3. Deep drawer bins have been a go to for years. They work great in pull out pantry drawers, deep bathroom drawers and shelves.

4. Drawer organizers are key to staying organized and these are a favorite because they come in a variety of sizes to fit any drawer and look great!

5. These hinged lid stackable boxes come in a variety of sizes and can be used in any room to keep items sorted and organized.

6. Stackable drawers are a great space saver in a closet, bathroom and under sinks. Also come in a variety of sizes.
