What is Serotonin Syndrome Productions? We are an ever evolving ensemble of artists. Our work challenges its audiences by facilitating thought and dialogue.

Founded in Galway, Ireland by Genevieve Taricco and Mycah Leigh Artis, Serotonin Syndrome Productions strives to create fresh works that challenge the perception of what theatre can be. We started working together in 2011 in Galway, Ireland and in the projects we’ve created we’ve tried to explore the human experience from the perspective of today’s American youth. We’re interested in making works

that question, electrify, instigate and entertain. It’s provokingly playful work that questions the very definition of theatre and what it can do for contemporary audiences. Through the use of movement and language that provokes interpretation we wish to evoke emotion that leads to thought rather than thought that leads to emotion. We open our work out to a broader ensemble through workshops for it is our belief that the devising process benefits from the inclusion of more minds and life experiences. We are filled with the promise that comes from the intense longing to develop and perform our pieces—fulfilling the relationship between the work, the audience, and the world. We’re based in Lansing, Michigan but we present the work we create all over the world.
