Africa is home to so many unique bird species, and this one here is a Crested Barbet. They have such an ineresting plumage and are found in southern Africa, so look out for them on your next safari! 📷
Feeding time for the lions on a wildebeest they caught as the zebra look on in the distance. It must be a strange feeling for the zebra watching a scene like this.
As you can see, things can get a little messy when feeding on a fresh carcass. Lions clean up by grooming themselves afterward, and their faces return to their normal tawny color.
It's not just about the wildlife in South Africa! Just a short drive from Cape Town is yet another must-see attraction on the eastern brim of Table Mountain National Park, the Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens. These stunning gardens hold the title of being the first botanical garden to ever be declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Manicured lawns and spacious winding trails will lead you through a showcase of over 7,000 varieties of plant species, including South Africa’s indigenous flora and its national flower, the protea. A must for any nature buff, especially with the eastern slopes of Table Mountain as a backdrop! Keep those cameras handy, the extensive gardens are a photographer’s dream for both professionals and amateurs alike. If you want to see the gardens in full bloom, mid-August to mid-October would be the prime time to visit.

It's always great to see a hippo outside of the water! 👀 Of course, it's important to give them a respectful distance so that everyone stays safe. 🦛
This leopard, with its kill in its mouth, was assessing the tree before making its climb. 🐆
The coolest ears on the planet. 🐘
Elegant descent.
Incoming! 🦁 This dominant male lion is chasing his unwelcome son off of a giraffe carcass. Don't mess with Dad!
Don't you wish you could chill out in a spot like this? Must be nice!

What A View! 😍 One of the best views of the beautiful Table Mountain can be seen from Robben Island. Cape Town, South Africa.
Can you feel the pierce of the eye? 👀
The stalk is on!

A piece of abstract art or something else? This is in fact an aerial view over the Masai Mara in Kenya, and those tiny grey spots are elephants! 🐘 Window seat for the win!
"Maasai Laughter"
The people of Africa are just as amazing as the wildlife of Africa. You can experience this incredible culture on a visit to a Maasai village while on safari in the Masai Mara in Kenya. 🇰🇪
📸 Photography TIP: Look for interesting patterns and textures to photograph while , like these close ups of giraffe, elephant, and crocodile skin.
Be on the lookout for these cool crocs when taking a boat safari or mokoro ride! Crocodiles can be found resting in the reed grass along the many channels in the Okavango Delta. 🐊

Colorful Cape Town. This is the Bo-Kaap district. Cool name, huh? The Bo-Kaap is a vibrant, rainbow of a suburb that sits between the Cape Town city center and Signal Hill. It’s a multicultural neighborhood home to a mix of Malaysian, Indian, Sri Lankan, Indonesian and African descendants of slaves that were brought to Cape Town by a Dutch trading company during the 1500s and 1600s. Come wander through the cobbled streets and see the kaleidoscope of colorful homes that will surround you. What’s that wonderful smell? That’s the spiced aromas of curry and samosas cooking. Stop at some of the neighborhood restaurants or take a food tour and taste for yourself the vivid culture of the Bo-Kaap. There are also several mosques throughout the neighborhood as it is home to most of Cape Town’s Muslim population.
For more history on the Bo-Kaap, visit the Bo-Kaap museum which is located in the area’s oldest building.
So why are the houses painted so colorfully? Well, I’ve heard about 4 or 5 different explanations. Everything from the slaves were illiterate and couldn’t read street numbers so they painted them to identify which house was which…to the former slaves’ painted them to celebrate their freedom…to residents painting them to celebrate the end of Ramadaan. So take it with a grain of salt or ask a local when you’re there. Maybe you’ll get a whole new reason we can add to the list! 🇿🇦
Hippo pool party! They sure do know how to chill. 🦛😎
A close but not too close approach to a herd of elephants quenching their thirst along the Chobe River in Chobe National Park, Botswana. We watched them until they decided to move on. 🐘

February-May is the best time to visit Victoria Falls, with April and May being the peak months when the falls are at their fullest. The rains from the preceding summer months cause the mighty Zambezi River to swell and, as a result, bring an enormous amount of water into Victoria Falls. This heavy flow creates a dramatic scene as the thundering wall of water crashes down into the gorge below. A spray/mist hovers above, so if you visit during this time, be prepared to get wet! Victoria Falls and the Zambezi River form the border between Zimbabwe and Zambia. You can visit Victoria Falls from either country. This particular video was taken on the Zimbabwean side. #safaririm #africatravel #adventuretravel #naturephotography #nature #photography #Africa #travel #waterfalls #victoriafalls #Zimbabwe #Zimbabwetravel

🔊 Safari Story (part 3 of 3): The dominant male lions return to the giraffe carcass to find their unwelcome sons feeding. Watch what happens! 🦁 #safaririm #safaritips #onsafari #africansafari #africatravel #adventuretravel #wildlife #wildlifetravel #wildlifephotography #photography #Africa #travel #lions #Botswana #botswanatravel #botswanasafari #okavangodelta
Safari Story (part 2 of 3): The second dominant male lion, known simply as “Limpy’s Brother,” is walking in the tall grass and spots one of his unwelcome sons that was kicked out of the pride. The son is making his way toward the direction of the giraffe carcass that the lion pride has been feasting on for the last couple of days. Limpy’s Brother tilts his head and glares at him as if to say, “what on Earth do you think you are doing?” He keeps his head tilted and starts to slowly stalk his son. We knew the father wasn’t just going to let his son stroll on over to the carcass. He was going to deliver a message and a lesson. #safaririm #onsafari #africansafari #africanwildlife #africatravel #adventuretravel #wildlifetravel #photography #Africa #travel #wildlife #lions #Botswana #okavangodelta #botswanatravel #safari
Safari Story (part 1 of 3): 2 dominant male lions (the ones with the large manes) are upset because 4 of their sons, who have been kicked out of the pride, have returned. They aren’t exactly welcome here, and their fathers show them just how they feel about their presence. In this video, “Limpy” (named because of his pronounced limp that he’s had much of his adult life) confronts one of his sons as soon as he spots him. #safaririm #onsafari #africansafari #africatravel #africasafari #wildlife #wildlifephotography #wildlifetravel #adventuretravel #botswana #okavangodelta #lions #travel #africa
This pride of lions killed a full-grown adult giraffe, which they specialize in hunting in this part of the Okavango Delta. This is only part of the pride. The younger lions sometimes get put in their place by the adults when feeding. #safaririm #onsafari #safarimoments #africansafari #africatravel #wildlifetravel #adventuretravel #safari #botswana #botswanatravel #africa #okavangodelta #wildlifephotography #wildlife #africanwildlife #africanlions
