Joyce & I just returned from an amazing trip to Italy, Greece & Turkey! We were accompanied by some of our closest friends which made it very special. We started out with 2-nights in Venice where we toured the many sites there. We then took the Bullet Train from Venice to Florence where we spent 2-nights and toured this beautiful city. One of the evenings in Florence, we met the Polizia de Arezzo for dinner. We first met the municipal police from Arezzo, Italy at the East Hanover Columbus Day Parade back in 2019 and have stayed in touch via Facebook! We then boarded a bus to Rome with stops in San Gimignano & Siena. After 2 wonderful days touring Rome, we boarded the Enchanted Princess Cruise ship for a 7-day Mediterranean Cruise! Our first stop was in Naples where we visited the ruins of Pompeii & the beautiful city of Sorrento. Our next stop was in Kusadasi, Turkey where we toured the holy city of Ephesus. We visited the House of the Virgin Mary, and the historic Ephesus ruins. Our next port was Istanbul where we toured the city and marveled at the Grand Bazaar, Hagis Sophia & Blue Mosques and much more! Our final port was Mykonos, Greece where we went to the Platis Gialos Beach. It was breathtakingly beautiful. On the last evening, Joyce & our group were treated by Princess Cruises to an early birthday celebration for Joyce, by dining at the Princess 360 Dining Experience. It is a destination inspired, 7-course meal paired with drinks, adventures and surprises! It was an interactive experience similar to an IMAX Theater. It was truly a memorable trip!

So very sad to report that our beloved Gavin MacLeod (aka Captain Stubing of Love Boat fame) passed away at the young age of 90. As I’ve said so many times, getting to know Gavin on a personal level has been one of my greatest thrills. Hearing his stories during the filming of an employee training video on Island Princess years ago motivated me to produce a documentary of his life. Such an incredible person and a life well lived. In addition to being on THREE number one TV shows (McHale’s Navy, Mary Tyler Moore and Love Boat), he was simply the nicest person you could ever meet. The Princess family has a broken heart today. We love you and will miss you terribly, Gavin!!!
