We tried to make most of our time in Edinburgh and have a taste of the cities history, legends, amazing food and drinks, but we can tell, we definitely will visit again! Edinburgh has so much to offer, whether you love dark legends, history, fancy cocktail bars you are a fan of wizardry. We love all these things!

In 1911, Henry Alexander JR drove his Ford Model T to the summit of Ben Nevis, Britain's highest mountain.

The legend says, Henrys father, a motors dealer in Edinburgh challanged his son, who was in his 20s, to take one of their cars to Ben Nevis - or else he will take his allowance. Mr Alexander wanted to demonstrate that his imported American Ford cards are superior to the British models.

Henry faced an uphill battle over bogs, burns, heather, rocks and snow over a distance of about five miles (8km) from sea level to the 1,345m (4,413ft) mountain top.

It took him and his team 5 days and several attempts to reach the summit before they returned triumphant to Fort William 9 days later.

This journey was described as "One of the most dealing feats in the history of motoring"

You can check out Henry Alexander in his bronze Ford on the main square of Fort William. Tha car was modelled after the original one.
