Northern lights in England!!! Even Australia got to see some of these amazing solar treats. In Florida they also got the treat!! Did you see any ? Nothing here in Hawaii plus it was a raining a little bit.

If you’ve ever struggle with the purpose of your existence on earth…. This is our truth. We are here, all humans to help the planet . To help the planet thrive. We are here to help whales, dolphins, sharks, and all living creatures when they need us. We are here to make sure trees grow big, with plenty fruit. We are here to care for the waterfalls lakes and rivers, the ocean and everything in it. Deep inside we haven’t forgotten that however the way the world works now gives most little time to help because they are working hard to simply exist and survive so can they thrive? We have to pay to live in lands that part of this planet and it’s our right to live on. We have to pay for the water we drink a natural resource that belongs to us for free. Maybe now we help each other get out of the mess we are in so we can help our beloved planet 🌎

Parrot fishes spend 90% of their day eating algae and dead coral. They clean our reefs. This makes them an important part of our ecosystem. Most of the reefs across the tropics are full of algae due to overfishing of the parrot fish and other herbivores. The parrot fish also poops up to 700 pounds of fine white sand annually.

Their existence is essential so avoid eating them. Educate your friends and family to raise awareness. Say no to catching parrot fishes. Don’t purchase them from the markets.

Here on Maui l’ve heard of some folks going at NIGHT and taking them while sleeping inside their cocoon . Very bad !

I want to share what a prayer means to me, only because the word is running and running about Maui and I wonder if people really know how much effort it takes for a good prayer or visualization as I also call them.

When you pray you visualize
You ask from the depths of your heart and that takes a lot of effort

It takes effort to reach your own heart
To get to that place that you can feel it pumping blood and filling up your body with mana

Not only the heart is at work also your guts are at work, your mind is at work focusing on that prayer. Focusing on that feeling. It takes effort it takes concentration and a lot of LOVE

If you want to pray for Maui please focus
Feel your heart feel your na’ao focus and have intention. Have Aloha

My memories of Lahaina are not my own, they are my mother's. When she was alive she shared with me that her fondest memories were in Lahaina, where she and my late father's love affair was its most magical. That was Lahaina, magical. A place for lovers, locals, artists, mariners, misfits, and tourists. My parents divorced when I was very young and like many people, we rely on the stories that are told to us of our parents' love affair. In the early 60's before I was born, Lahaina was a place a wild local Paia Maui boy and a prime and proper blonde young lady from Pasadena could be free. Free of social constraints and judgment. What we thankfully take for granted now Lahaina provided a haven for my parents. An accepting community that allowed lovers to love. Lahaina will always be in my heart and the hearts of many who fell in love with her. Mau loa iloko o ko makou naau💙

The ocean is not an amusement park Is not Disneyland. Many times not a safe place for humans. One of the few times I’ve been scared for my own life and ( the life of others ) is when I encountered a very angry stripped marlin I was in a secluded island swimming with leviathans when out of the nowhere this agitated bill fish appeared. His colors were changing in front of our eyes his body swaying in the blue just ready to pierce … or attack The day before this happened we had witnessed a very small fishing boat carrying a very large dead bill fish. The boat could barely float due to the extra weight. Coincidentally we were swimming near the spot we saw the boat carrying the dead female. We are tough by science that bill fish are oviparous, that on mating time the female releases eggs and males release sperm and they meet and boom!! Babies are made. Yes this true. But what about the rest of their lives. I’ve worked on boats here in Hawaii for three decades. I’m a fan of ocean tails and anything that can give me knowledge or education about our oceans. The stories are amazing Fisherman are not evil people. Fisherman have incredible amount of knowledge vie observation to share with the world. Combined with science we have a chance at understanding our ocean friends. I was told that once full maturity is reached bill fish choose companions. That they had seen several times bill fish swimming in pairs. Male and female and this is easy to determine due to the size difference between the two. Females being almost twice as big as males. Is it possible that this male bill fish was so upset over losing a companion and wanted revenge from us humans? It might be too much to fathom for some. To give animals human traits but my friends.
