Finally important snowfall has arrived in the Dolomites, which is truly the biggest news in world of skiing. It really has been incredible how little snowfall so many of the Italian mountains have had this winter, and equally incredible how well they have done to offer such decent sport thus far. So in the Dolomites now snow depths are increasing fast, and the seven-day forecast looks good with another 40cm predicted for this area and maximum daytime temperatures remaining close to zero°C at 1000m. a.s.l.
Cause the severe lack of snow in the Dolomites we went scouting the splendid Olympic Region of Seefeld - Austria. With 270 km of prepared trails for all abilities, Seefeld is considered to be a Mecca of cross-country skiing in Europe. We also went ski touring around its surroundings from a totally different perspective ... Bretzel and beer are always welcome !!!
