See Zurich from the Loorenkopf Tower

Loorenkopf is a 33-meter high freestanding tower that stands The tower stands at an altitude of 694 meters. The tower was constructed in 1954 and made of wood lattice; long planks of wood which have been overlapped to form a criss-cross pattern of wooden beams. The tall tower is a popular public observation point offering panoramic views across the city of Zürich and the surrounding countryside. To reach the upper platform you need to climb 153 steps, but on a clear day, it is worth it for the amazing views which sometimes include Jungfrau, Monch, Eiger, Glattal Valley, the Zurich Oberland, and the Alps in the distance.


Follow the Loorenkoph Trail
There is an easy hike trail through the Jörentobel ravine ending at a former mill above Fällanden. Along the way you can see where the brook has carved away the stone, resulting in the largest collection of boulders in Canton Zurich. The trail leaves the ravine and climbs up through the residential areas of Pfaffhausen, to the woods leading to the Loorenkopf tower at the eastern end of Adlisberg. The route takes you past two excellent restaurants serving traditional Swiss cuisine in the pristine natural surroundings.
