Day 63 // Go to the Coney Island Mermaid Parade

Slightly the most pointless parade ever, the Mermaid Parade is meant to celebrate summer and, well, mermaids. Amazing costumes and enthusiastic spectators make the trip down there worthwhile.

The Mermaid Parade is a Coney Island tradition built on celebrating the beginning of summer. You never know what you will spot there.

Day 62 // Eat Your Favorite New York Pizza

People keep on telling me "Eat here!" or "Eat There!" but I knew my favorite New York pizza the moment I bit into it the first time. It is at Artichoke Basille's.

Everyone tells me their favorite place to eat pizza, but today I have to take you to mine: Artichoke Basil

Day 60 // Hang Out in the Hamptons
Sometimes you just have to get out of the city!

One very New Yorker thing to do is leave New York every now and then. We escaped to Southampton, NY for a day of shopping and beaches.

Day 59 // Driving Through Manhattan

This video is about Driving Through Manhattan

Day 58 // Grocery Shop Like a New Yorker
Rule #1: Only buy what you can carry.
Rule #2: Seriously, don't forget to only buy what you can carry.

It was a shocking moment when I realized I couldn't buy a carload of groceries in New York, mainly because I didn't have a car to carry them in. In NYC, you ...

Day 57 // Live in a Tiny New York Apartment
We are cramped, but me, my fiance, and my 2 kitties are pretty happy in our apartment. It's not the size but the way you use it, right? Ok, I went too far...

Unless you are a ba-zillionaire, it is inevitable that your apartment will be tiny, at least if you live in Manhattan like me. We do our best as you can see.

Day 56 // Eat Only Seamless for a Day
One of the first things we did when we moved to New York was discover how amazing Seamless.com is. You can get about anything delivered.

You can get about anything delivered in NYC, food, clothes, wine, liquor, groceries, ma*****na (you didn't hear it from me). We did what we have done many ti...

Day 55 // Go to a Free Concert
I realized in the middle of the concert that this was possibly the least New Yorkery thing I could do because of all the tourists, but when you pay as much as I do for rent then you have the right to take advantage of free stuff.

I realized half-way through this post that I was surrounded by tourists, so this wasn't a big New Yorker moment, but it is true that New Yorkers take advanta...

We got our first press today on Tracy's New York Life! Though her feelings on my project were mixed, I appreciate her honesty and her ideas are definitely helpful!

Does jumping turnstiles in the subway, jaywalking across Broadway, eating 99 cent pizza in Midtown, sunbathing in Central Park, going to a Yankees game, and doing dozens of other "New Yorky" things make anyone a New Yorker? I'm not sure what defines becoming a New Yorker.

Day 54 // Eat a Bagel at Russ & Daughters
Hands down best bagel of my life. Also, I've never seen caviar that costs $250 for a couple ounces before. Who buys that stuff?

Russ & Daughters is where you have to go to get anything that goes on a bagel. Their lox tastes like heaven. The fact that they've been around since 1914 in ...

Day 53 // Use the Best Public Restroom
It takes a real New Yorker to know where to go when you have to go.

Tourists use public restrooms all the time, but it takes a real New Yorker to know where to go when you have to go. Today I used the nicest restroom of them ...

Day 52 // Sunbathe in Central Park
Spoiler alert: I didn't get burned!

On a pretty day, thousands of people will flood into Sheep's Meadow in Central Park to sunbathe and play.

Day 51 // Ride Bikes Through Manhattan.
I'm sorry, owner of the parked car I ran into.

Somewhere in between running into a parked car and not being able to reach the ground, I realized that some people (aka, me) aren't meant to ride bikes throu...

Day 50 // Experience Fleet Week
Loved my time on the ship! Happy belated Memorial Day everyone!

Fleet Week is when NYC (and other cities) get flooded by men and women in uniform, and we get to celebrate what they do for our country. The USS San Antonio ...

Day 49 // Visit All 5 Boroughs in One Day!
It's exhausting but worth it.

Every borough of New York is unique. This was my first time going to Staten Island and I'm pretty sure my ears hurt from the silence.

Day 45 // Go to Union Square Greenmarket

Day 43 // Tell FAO Schwarz Goodbye

The famous toy company is closing this iconic location and moving, so of course I had to hug some teddy bears and dance on the Big Piano one last time.
