We are a student organization at San Jacinto College South dedicated to bringing together le***an, gay, bisexual, transgender, questioning, and straight students as well as students with LGBTQ families. This group also gives students a place to build new friendships and discuss issues related to Community, Academics, Health & Wellness, Civic Virtue, Civil Rights & Liberties, Sexual Orientation and
Gender Identity. We also discuss and promote Equality, Fairness, Acceptance & Inclusivity. HISTORICAL:

SAN JACINTO COLLEGE SOUTH -
FKA GAY STRAIGHT ALLIANCE
AKA "THE ALLIANCE". We are a re-formed Student organization at San Jacinto College South dedicated to bringing Together le***an, gay, bisexual, transgender, questioning, straight Students, Students with LGBTQ+ family, and their Allies. Originally organized as the San Jacinto College South - Gay Straight Alliance, the group is now branded: SJC-South LGBTQ+ Alliance aka “The Alliance”. This group was designed to provide Students a forum to build and re-new their friendships and Community ties - as well as to explore issues related to sexual orientation and gender identity. We promote equality, equity, fairness, acceptance and Inclusivity. The Alliance at SJC-S is an Active & Well-Supported Student Diversity Group, supported by the SJC-S LGBTQ Faculty Workgroup, the dedicated Staff of the SJC-S Student Engagement & Activities Office. We are Proud to say that we are still in contact with Our "Coyote" Alums (via Facebook) and are networking with our counterparts located at SJC’s North and Central Campuses as well as with our allied Student groups at SJC-South. We are fortunate to network with the Greater Metro Houston Q Communities. Each semester, new Students are needed to take up the baton, renewing and revitalizing the Student group.
