Brazilians celebrate Carnival despite Zika virus threat

If Brazilians are worried about the Zika virus, it clearly didn't show during this weekend's pre-Carnival celebrations.

The sun and heat brought thousands of people out into the streets of Brazil's main cities.

Carnival doesn't officially start until Thursday, but it's customary to start celebrations earlier.

EasyJet unveils plan for 'hybrid' planes using hydrogen fuel cells

On Tuesday easyJet announced plans to trial the use of hydrogen fuel cells on their planes.

The concept, which could convert their entire fleet of ordinary planes into hybrids without having to purchase new aircraft, could save a potential 50,000 tons of fuel and corresponding CO2 emissions each year.

The concept relies on hydrogen fuel cells which would be stored in the aircraft hold, and would allow a plane to taxi to and from the runway without using any fuel.

The newest airport amenity? Movie theaters

In theory, airports and cinemas seem made for each other.

If polls are anything to go by, the demand for more airport entertainment is sky high, and certainly cinemas can't ask for an audience more captive than one waiting out a long layover.

Yet few airports seem to have been willing to take the plunge, until now.

Portland International Airport will soon be the latest in a slew of travel hubs to adopt a movie theater. And, being Portland, it's likely to be a hipster's dream.
