Anyone who knows me, knows I am a non drinker so I am unbiased but everyone I have taken for pints during their tour of Dublin have said that the Guinness in The Confession Box is the best. Many of you are now friends here along with other Guinness lovers so please show your support and vote for the girls at TCB
After some painstaking debate among the Dublin Live team, we haven't come to a decision yet - but we have narrowed it down to a supreme seven of servers, and we need your help to decide which one is the best of the lot
Hi folks... For all of you who grew up around Deansgrange etc, you may remember the O'Hallorans... Well, John O'Halloran's son Taro is all grown up now in the states and he's making movies. He is currently trying to raise funds to make this one below. He has a gofundme page set up too so if anyone can get behind a new young talent here (and my pals in the USA), all donations would be really welcome. Please share this on too to help him out. Check this out. Best of luck to Taro. https://www.gofundme.com/f/humanzee-a-short-film-by-taro-ohalloran/donate?fbclid=IwAR2-c8uZG6bhmbP6p2ddauINN7g61tAh0sieLWN0BZ1yLPA77Aj5v4jo_RQ

Remember when these were the coinage?
In the early 70s, when this team of Irish coins heralded in the new decimal currency. If you had just a few of these of any denomination as a child, you could have a great time in the nearest sweet shop. This system did away with the old imperial system of pounds, shillings and pennies/pence. Every coin had the harp on one side, this image was on all three sets of Irish coins since Independence up to the Euro in 2002. The set of decimal coins here after 1971 showed typical Irish creatures or Celtic designs.

This beautiful sculpture was built by the Irish people in their own country to honor the American Choctaw Indian tribe. They were grateful because in 1847 the Choctaw people sent money to Ireland when they learned that Irish people were starving due to the potato famine. The Choctaw themselves were living in hardship and poverty, having recently endured the Trail of Tears.
And that is a lesson in how to be a person in this world.
Kindred Spirits is a large stainless steel outdoor sculpture in Bailick Park in Midleton, County Cork, Ireland. The shape of the feathers is intended to represent a bowl of food.
Culture Night- We popped in to see this for Culture Night. It is a great insight into everyday life for those living around the border counties back in the day... Well worth seeing.
