4th or 5th safari, and I told myself – if I don’t see anything today, I’m officially retiring from the safari business.
So, with a little hope and a lot of frustration, I asked the uncle, ‘Uncle, how many leopards are there?’
Uncle replies, ‘Leopard ki ginti? Anginat hain!’
Bro, at least throw me a number!
Anyway, with that super-helpful answer and my luck running on fumes, we set off again, manifesting all the good vibes. And guess what? After a bit of driving… BAM! 2 leopards! Finally spotted two casually roaming around.
Hope restored, right? Nah. After 4 hours of searching for more, the only thing we found was disappointment and snack wrappers in the jeep.
Fast forward to the next day – Chilla range.
Driver uncle: ‘Sighting chances kam hain.’
Me to my friends: ‘Relax, it’s all about luck!’ (Inside, I’m praying harder than ever).
And then, plot twist – a whole elephant drama unfolds! One elephant charges at a jeep, and suddenly, 4 elephants pop out of nowhere like it’s an action movie.
Still no tiger, but hey, we saw pugmarks! Safari ka asli mazza toh mila. Moral of the story? Safaris are like exams – hope for the best, but expect anything! 🐘😂
