Two For The Road Photography and Art I’ve added acrylic and watercolor paintings to my page along with photos. Contact me for purchase. Our list of places "we've got to see" grows almost daily.

This business was born out of a love of travel and appreciation for the gorgeous places we've been able to visit. Documenting the land and wildlife we discover has become a passion. Now it includes watercolors and acrylic paintings done from the photos taken from all our travels.

This is one that has needed to be redone for a while. I wasn't happy with the mountains or trees. My husband kind of laughed and said " but the mountains and trees are the whole darn painting ". I know... I redid the sky and road, too. So I guess I repainted the "whole darn thing". Sometimes it just needs to happen.

Taking a little time to work on this. It needs some adjustments, but it’s on the right track I think.

Sometimes being quick and knowing what’s coming up produces such a gift— this is one of those times. Speeding down I-5 at 75+ and catching nearly every majestic formation of Castle Crag near Dunsmuir,CA in the blink of an eye was a treat to be sure.

My little Lily of the Valley were so slow coming up this year, I was worried something had happened to them. But here they are - I have a small grouping of them with about 200 plants. When I walk by their fragrance is so sweet and delicate! And the iris - I have waited 2 years for them to bloom!! I have dark purple, like this one, and big, butter yellow ones just starting to bloom. I'm SO excited - they'll become a painting, I'm quite sure!!!

I love the ocean. It's my favorite place to be when I have the chance. This is from a photo I took along the southern Oregon coast when the wind was whipping the waves to be huge and frothy- so powerful. I don't think I have the shading right yet. I'll keep working on it.

I saw another photographer post a beautiful sunset. It was in Oregon. I Dont get sunsets in oregon- too many huge trees around me when the sun goes down. But when I was in New Mexico a while ago and I get gorgeous sunrises over the Sandia Mountains. I had many to choose from. This is a favorite. No photo processing. Just the way it looked as the sun gave life to the day.

Mt.Hood has so many moods. But I suppose all mountains do. I'm just partial to this one because it was part of my landscape most of my life. I painted this a while ago. Maybe I should paint it again to see what mysteries unfold this time.

My first cat. My neighbor up the hill has a very unique looking cat. She asked if I could paint her. I said I’d give it a shot. Can a cat in a photo cause trouble? She looks so sweet. So friendly. Take it from me- she fought me whisker and claw. I figured out how to get her to settle down ,however. I’d just put my paintbrush and go do something else for a bit. One morning it all started to come together. Her nose was right. So were her ears. And tail. When my neighbor came today to get her, there she sat, just as sweet and loving as can be. ( I could swear she winked at me letting me know she’d ALLOWED me to win.)

They promised snow. Over and over they said, be ready, it's coming. I looked out the window in anticipation about 2 AM every morning, but there was nothing. A little dusting on the ground, but nothing being added. I got to thinking about the real snow we had when we first moved here. Magnificent! And because of the climate, the freezing temperatures did the most amazing things to everything I looked at. Our Pin Oak hadn't lost its leaves yet, and when I went on a search with my camera, this is just one of the marvelous wonders I discovered.

It’s just lanterns on our patio table. But sometimes simply beautiful images can happen right out your back door.

It was difficult deciding which reference photo to use for a sunrise painting. So, after eeney meeny etc I used this one from my trip to Albuquerque in September. I may have do do one more because I got so many great photos in those last 3 days when clouds finally rolled in.

Haven’t done any painting for quite a while. Finally did one of the sunrise photos from my visit to Albuquerque.

I'm always trying something new. Painting on glass. Wine glasses and dessert/display plates so far. Who knows what I'll find to paint next. And yes, they're for sale and I take orders.
