This project is one of my all-time favorite projects. The client wanted a unique display system to showcase her collection of art glass. One of the many challenges was running the electric to each of the shelves. Holes in the drywall had to be made with in 1/8” accuracy in order to be covered by the shelf. I’ll post a photos once the glass is placed.

The tiny air bubbles are painstakingly filled with a fast setting glue. I poured the seal coat on the bottom. Once it is dry it gets sanded and the final finish applied. So far I have nearly 10 hours of sanding. The end is in sight.

These type of highly figures logs are considered waste by the logging companies. They are left behind to rot. The milling industry wants the straight and clean portion of the tree for lumber. Fortunately there are a few folks who reclaim the logs.
