We were very privileged to have ex Tullyite James Sing and his family come along and share stories about his grandfather, also called James Sing. James Sing Snr was born on Thursday Island in 1896 & opened Tully Cash Stores ( where Barrier Reef Tackel Village stands today) in the 1930s. He also had cane farms and a timber mill. He was a very prominent business man and very generous to the Tully community. James Sing Snr passed away in 1965.
