K-Medi Center is all you need to do if you are into Korean traditional medicine. They have it all - museum showcasing how the traditional medicine developed, experience areas where you can make your own traditional cosmetic products, aroma foot bath, hand and full body massage, you name it. Go check it out, the area around the center is where all Korean traditional medicine is sold.

The newly renewed Gwanghwamun Square is really amazing. I love how much more trees there are, and most of all, so much seating arrangements - it’s no more a lawn and space for protests, but real meeting place with areas for kids, fountains, benches, even archeological part exposing the historical layers bellow the square.

Did you check the new square?

On the way to the see, stuck in traffic, we searched for a random coffee shop to get some coffee on the go. This is what our 1 min search got us to! I love Korea for the abundance of coffee shops, not just in Seoul, but everywhere. Coffee shops in Korea are life, they are experience, they are art. I haven’t ever seen so many exciting and amazingly designed coffee shops, I’m serious ;)

What can make a great night at Hongdae perfect? Amazing sunset! This is one thing I can’t ignore, when the sky turns in all the fire colors, I have to go out and explore. Luckily I was on the way to Hongdae, so even though I was late for a meeting, guess what!? Running around taking photos and videos, but it’s amazing ;-)

No matter how many times I’ve been to Gyeongbokgung Palace, it’s always exciting to return. There’s always something new to learn, more interesting places to explore. The palace so super exciting and full of surprises if you are curious enough to look around.

What’s your favorite place in Gyeongbokgung Palace?

This pictures tell why I fall in love with Seoul. No matter how cluttered the area is, it’s still amazing! When the wires, excessive advertisement and unpleasing architecture do not bother you anymore and start to like it. That’s my , and I love it!

Autumn is around the corner, and with it comes the amazingly beautiful foliage season in Korea. It’s one of the most exciting times of the year for me, but unfortunately, it’s really short and you have to plan really well to see the vibrant colors of the trees during its peak! Here’s the forecast for this year’s foliage, but keep in mind the actual times might be slightly different.

Seoraksan Mountain: start 20.9 - peak 21.10
Odaesan Mountain: start 4.10 - peak 17.10
Bukhansan Mountain: start 17.10 - peak 30.10
Woraksan Mountain: start 14.10 - peak 27.10
Sangnisan Mountain: start 21.10 - 31.10
Geyeryongsan Mountain: start 20.10 - peak 2.11
Gayasan Mountain: start 19.10 - peak 30.10
Naejangsan Mountain: start 30.10 - peak 5.11
Jirisan Mountain: start 20.10 - peak 28.10
Mudeungsan Mountain: start 25.10 - peak 4.11
Busan: start 20.10 - peak 30.10
Hallasan Mountain: start 20.10 - peak 31.10

Where do you plan to go? Do you have beautiful places you have bookmarked and want to visit during the fall foliage?

Last days of the summer in . Finally the weather is great, and the humid and hot summer days are gone. Wish this weather stays with us for longer but that’s not very likely.

What’s your favorite time of the year?

Why Chris Travels

My name is Chris, and I moved to Korea 3 years ago. I'm co-founder of Imagga, an AI (artificial intelligence) technology startup and I run the Asian operations of my company. I fell in love with Korea and started traveling around the country in my free time to explore its fantastic nature, culture, and people. I've visited more than 50 different locations in Korea so far. My hobbies are photography, videography, and drone videography. I travel with my drone and fly it whenever I'm allowed, and the weather is good.
