Trpovi, odnosno morski krastavci, izuzetno su važni za funkcioniranje ekološkog sustava morskog dna jer su razlagači. To su organizmi koji kroz svoj probavni trakt “provlače” pijesak, odnosno morske sedimente i pritom iz njih odstranjuju organske tvari kojima se hrane.

Nedostatak trpova kao najvažnijih bentičkih razlagača uzrokuje nakupljanje organskih tvari što dovodi do porasta broja bakterija koje se njima hrane. Zbog porasta bakterija dolazi do nestanka kisika i stanja koje se naziva anoksijom. Svi pokretni organizmi napustit će anoksično stanište dok će nepokretni uginuti, što će dodatno pogoršati situaciju.

Nekad je naša uvala bila prepuna trpova, a danas se jedva nađe koji🥲

Magical SVETOJANJ fortress 😍🌊
About three kilometers from Stara Novalja stands one of the most beautiful coves of island Pag, facing Velebit. It's name is SVETOJANJ. It is well known as a Byzantine fortress built in the 6th century, at the time of Emperor Justinian.
Because of its beautiful landscapes and clean sea, during summer Svetojanj is famous for fishing, swimming and sunbathing, and is also visited by numerous hikers and seadivers.
