Over 2,700 youth in the USA, Ghana, and South Africa have transformed their lives through sports-inspired mentorship and skills development with Hope Of A Billion’s (HOAB) Power of Resilience program - a testament to inspiration as a driver of positive impact.

In fact, the (GhPN) Ghanaian Professionals Network recently honored HOAB’s co-founder and Ghana's first skeleton Olympian, Akwasi Frimpong OLY, with their WAWA ABA Adinkra Award which celebrates resilience and determination. Akwasi and the HOAB team continue to inspire as they work tirelessly with the next generation.

The Silicon Valley Education Foundation (SVEF) recently held DreamMakers 2024 to resounding success, raising over $800,000 to support students, families, and educators across Silicon Valley.

In September 2024, Alliance Niyukuri, MD and his team achieved something momentous - they saved the life of a newborn diagnosed with Gastroschisis in rural Burundi, where the condition previously meant death within 24 hours for any babies born with it.

Niyukuri built the first pediatric surgery program in the country with the connections, learnings, and support he gained through his fellowship with UCSF’s Center for Health Equity in Surgery and Anesthesia (CHESA). His interactions with UCSF faculty and students helped him take great strides and eventually led to that baby boy surviving his first 24 hours with what could have been a fatal condition.
