Today was the cheese and strawberry farm. sound boring... No way! The kids got to try their hand at milking a cow. Santino said he was a natural. Lol Then they got to see how cheese was made from fresh milk all the way to end product. The best part was sampling all the different kinds of cheese. Then a tractor ride to the strawberry patch. The strawberry jam they make there is out of this world! Nobody has ever tasted a strawberry like this! All the kids thought it was great! Unfortunately Ms Mo did not get to join them and had to stay back at the hotel. But kind-hearted students that I have, thought of me and brought home a sample of the cheeses and then we had a cheese party out by the pool when they got back. The second part of their day was spent at La Paz Waterfall gardens. They got to see Jaguars, mountain lions, snakes, and go into the butterfly aviary. Butterflies landed on them. Judy told me that Tony was in another world calm and serene with butterflies all around him. They also got to enjoy all the birds. Jordi and Brenna took a picture with a toucan on their arm! Unfortunately, since I had to stay back, I do not have pictures to share. But we will have many to show you when we get back. Tomorrow we are headed back to the coast to have our crocodile cruise, and hike through the Manuel Antonio preserve. There we will see monkeys, iguanas, birds, and lots of monkeys, probably a sloth or two all in their natural habitat. No cages or enclosures here. We will then spend the rest of the day on a beach surrounded by jungle. I'll let you know how it goes tomorrow night.

We got a wonderful surprised last night by our tour guide John. Today We were taken to the coast early in the morning, and put on a giant catamaran for a cruise to Tortuga Island! The catamaran was awesome! Two pools on top deck, free drinks, lots of music, and of course the netting / trampolines that everybody wanted to lay on. On the island we went snorkeling, and played in the ocean while the ship's crew set up an amazing four-course lunch for us. They put up canopies on the sand close to the forest and cooked for us amazing things. We had mahi mahi ceviche, as an appetizer. It was so good! next came 3 salads: pasta, cucumber, and a green salad. For the main course we had chicken with a papaya coconut sauce, rice and vegetables. And of course don't forget dessert! A marimba band played for us while we ate and Tony got into the act by playing the bongo with them. The best part was all the surprise company we had during the day. A family of four miniature deer, a peacock, two huge iguanas and even a wild pig! Brenna discovered that every time she started to pet the pig he would drop and over on the sand. He was extremely happy and content just let her pet him all over! Jordi and Santino kicked it in a hammock after lunch totally rested and satisfied. Even the adults had an amazing time and the ocean was so warm Renee didn't want to come out! Mrs. Sims, Judy and Kim all took pictures so we will show you all when we get back. Tired and sunburned we are here at the Wyndham Hotel for two nights now. We will be hitting the La Paz waterfalls in the morning. Until tomorrow night......Buenos Niches.

What an amazing day we had today! We had breakfast at 6:30, and then headed straight over to Aventura for ziplining! The kids loved it, and so did the adults. Flying through the trees Jordi said was great! Santino thought it was one of the scariest things he has ever done, but was so glad he did it. and Tony? well his response was, "It was the most amazing, most beautiful, most fantastic time I had ever had! Thank you Miss Mo for making me do it!" " Hummm Tony, I don't think I made you do it." Lol Brenna also said she had a great time! Even though Mrs. Sims was very nervous, she admitted it was quite a ride. After that we went horseback riding. everybody looked majestic on their horse! Brenna was worried about getting on her horse but she didn't like a trooper and looked like a queen leading a parade. Renee and Kim were at the front of the pack while Debbie helped bring up the rear, as she was following a baby c**t, so cute! After lunch everyone hiked in the St Elena cloud forest and later went into town to shop. Number one item? Chocolate covered coffee beans! Yum! Under a quick trip back to our hotel to shower and change, we are now headed to dinner.

Day four, everybody's tucked into their beds with the wind howling outside here in Monteverde. Today was a good day, a giving day. We got to plant a tree to help keep this beautiful rain forest going, and then we went to a park in a small town where children of all ages came to join us and we played all kinds of games with them. Soccer, volleyball frizeebe and more. Some of us even slid down the hill on a sled! The children ranged from 2 years old all the way up past high school! Our group gave our school supplies to the head of the park who's going to make sure that they're distributed to children and teachers who need them. All the schools are out for holy week. . Ms Mo thought to bring a couple bags of starburst to help break the ice right away. At first some of the children didn't know what they were. One taste of sweet candy and friendships were instantly made. Many of the group are saying this was their favorite day so far. Tomorrow it is horseback riding and zip lining through the treetops! Pura Vida!

Day 3. After a great Costa Rican breakfast at our really cool hotel, we headed into the town of La Fortuna. The volcano Arenal was in the background and the town square had a big fountain right jn the middle and beautiful yellow and orange flowers all around. I know it was only 9 o'clock in the morning but the first thing we all did was hit the ice cream shop! Yummy yummy yummy! After that we headed off to do some kayaking. The volcanic lake was cooler than expected but celebrate when everybody started to be there to kayaks over to take a dip. Even Jon, our tour guide, jumped in the lake! Shoulders sore and very tired we get back into the bus and head over for some lunch after which we went to Baldy Hot Springs. What a place! Tropical, gorgeous hot pools that climbed up the hill a total of 19 different pools up different varying degrees from 106 degrees to 120 degrees.. 3 even had water slides, so of course they were the first one the kids ran to! After 3 hours of soaking in warm waters, we met at the front pool and Ms Mo and Mrs Sims bought us all drinks! Virgin of course! We then headed to a great dinner of arroz con pollo or chicken and rice. We stopped at LA Fortuna 1 more time for a quick shopping excursion. Tired and relaxed we are now in our beds. Happy and content. It's up in the morning at 6 o'clock for 630 breakfast and we head to the cloud forest of Monteverde. Good Nite.......

last night our rooms were really great! The boys decided to try out the gym. Tony even went back in the morning to do another set of exercises! He made quick friends with their roommate Blake from Reno. Tony is really getting to know all the other people he's a regular social butterfly. I am so proud of him! Today We hiked to POAS volcano and got to see a real Jurassic Park atmosphere. Clouds rolling in on top of us were really cool yet creepy. Jordi and Santino thought it was Awesome! Then it started to rain. Everyone had their poncho accept Ms.Mo and Brenna! Santino was a gentleman and gave Ms. Mo his, and thankfully Mrs. Sims had an extra one for Brenna. After a great Costa Rican lunch, we had a three and a half hour ride to Arenal. we got to see some great rainforest and even got caught in a traffic jam in a tiny little town who is having a spaghetti squash festival! There werespaghetti squash everywhere! We even saw the Queen all dressed up in a beautiful crown. We finally got to our hostel late tonight, around 7:30. Everyone tired worn out and a little cranky... Solution ....... Pool party! Oh, and some foosball. Tony sat in on some cards with the kids from New York. Tomorrow is kayaking and the hot springs! Thats Ms. Mo's most favorite part. Can't wait!
