During Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, it's important to recognize and celebrate the unique experiences of adoptees within these communities. Many adoptees of Asian, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander descent bring a rich blend of cultural backgrounds to their identity.

For adoptees within these communities, heritage can be a complex and evolving part of their identity. A lot of the adoptees who travel with us are international adoptees and have had to adjust to cultures and traditions that are different from their country of birth. Many are transracial adoptees and are navigating the intersection between their adoptive and biological cultures.

This month offers an opportunity to highlight the diverse journeys of adoptees and the ways in which they contribute to and shape AANHPI communities. It's a time to celebrate the resilience, strength, and unique perspectives that adoptees bring to their cultural heritage. Let's embrace and uplift adoptees as integral members of our AANHPI family during this special month of celebration.

Congratulations Joel! Joel was one of the first Indian adoptees to travel with India Ties. We always knew he was going to doing something very special with his life. Turns out this is not his only great accomplishment. He also has a wonderful family!

Joel Samuels has been selected to the most comprehensive legal development program in the country, Leadership Council on Legal Diversity (LCLD), 2023 Fellows Program. Now in its twelfth year, the LCLD Fellows Program is an ambitious, highly structured initiative built to increase diversity at the leadership levels for mid-career attorneys at the nation’s law firms and corporate legal departments. Fellows have proven to be indispensable to key clients and teams, invested in attorney mentoring and professional development, and on a trajectory towards leadership positions.

The festival of colours, Holi brings with it the different shades of life. As we know life is a palate and colours are the only thing that gives a spectrum to life. The colours of happiness and joy fills our hearts with the language of our vibrant dreams which we celebrate by showing our affection to our loved ones by applying colours on them. This day also marks the celebration of the eternal and divine love of Radha Krishna and signifies the triumph of good over evil as it celebrates the victory of Lord Vishnu as Narasimha over the demon Hiranyakashipu through the ritual of Holika Dahan. May this Festival of Spring draws the most colourful picture of your life.
