Congrats to Miral for guessing our upcoming trip to CROATIA!!!! Thanks to all those who already knew for not spilling the beans!

Focusing on the Venetian Empire, Delta Dawn Travels is taking on Croatia from Dubrovnik all the way up the Adriatic coast and ending the trip with our final stop in Venice! Christmas Markets abound this time of year in Europe!

In the summer 2019, I took a group of 35 plus travelers to Bavaria and Alsace. We visited several towns on the Alsatian Wine Trail during that trip. Here are three of some of those same towns at Christmastime in France! Eguisheim, Riquewihr, and Strasbourg, the capital city of Alsace.

The São Bento Railway station in Porto, Portugal is a destination in and of itself! There are over 20,000 tiles here all hand painted by the same artist, including the traditional Azulejos 'blue' tiles. The tiles at the top of the walls are in sequence and depicting the history of travel. All amazing. It's a mini museum! Put it on your list if you are going to Porto! We loved it!

Celebrate like the Irish today! Photo of the world famous Temple Bar on St Patrick's Day... Delta Dawn Travels spent a week in Ireland and we were lucky to be there during 3 days of the St. Patrick's Festival! It was the best wild and crazy time ever! FYI- the Irish do not wear the green to celebrate; those are mainly foreigners--us included!🍀🍀🍀🍻🍻🍻 Slainté!

Our group actually did this in October, 2022, in Obidos, where Ginjinha is made!
It was delicious!!! And Obidos is the perfectly preserved medieval town.

Ginjinha (sour cherry liqueur) in a Chocolate cup 😊

Delta Dawn Travels is taking on Scotland in October! Did you know in Scotland that Shrove Tuesday( their term for today) is actually called Pancake Day? The Scots make especially thick pancakes and then, while holding pancakes in a pan, have races in the streets during parades, a tradition dating back to 1445. Below is a picture of some Scotch pancakes, a picture of a very old painting commemorating pancake day, and a photo of one of the many pancake races on Shrove Tuesday in Olney, Scotland.
