In Michigan, there’s no place farther north than Copper Harbor*.

This tiny community, which is home to just more than 135 full-time residents, rests at the tip of the Keweenaw Peninsula in the heart of Copper Country.

While it was once the epicenter of the state’s historic copper boom in the 19th century, Copper Harbor is now primarily an Upper Peninsula resort community that is known for its scenic views, rugged terrain, and recreational opportunities.

Come out and enjoy Art in the Park - happening this weekend.......

Come on UP and see us this weekend in Copper Harbor for our Annual Art in the Park! With 60 Artists from across the country, offering paintings, jewelry, photography, ceramics, woodworking, textiles and more!

Complimenting our weekend long festival, we will have live music both days with The 2XL Band featuring Philip Vigelius and Eric Kot on Saturday 12-4 PM. Then Sunday, The Art in the Park Reunion Band with Gail English and friends will play from 1:00 to 4 PM.

Our Copper Harbor Fire Department will be firing up the grills with Brats, Dogs and fresh corn on the cob for everyone to enjoy at the pavilion . And… don’t forget to stop in the community building for some sweet delicious treats at our CHIA community Bake Sale.

The Show will run Rain or Shine Saturday 10 -5 PM and Sunday 11-4 PM.

Come help us celebrate this weekend long family tradition in the northernmost town in Michigan!

Equipment: Canon 5D Mark IV on a tripod set up in shallow water. Manually focused on infinity. Canon EF 16-35mm/2.8 L III USM at 16mm

Settings: f2.8 - 13 seconds– ISO 2500 - 2 second timer to prevent camera shake

Copper Harbor’s diverse shorelines are a paddlers paradise, featuring uninhabited wilderness with
ancient lava flows, cobbled rock and sand beaches, sea stacks, waterfalls and a number of small sea caves and arches. Kayak and Canoe rentals are available in town or bring your own!

Copper Harbor offers many trails for wilderness hiking. The woods are alive with birds, wildflowers and local critters.
The lake shore options and mixed forests in this boreal fringe make for an ever interesting hiking experience.

Isle Royale National Park has just been ranked higher than Denali, Yellowstone and Big Bend, among others, to be named the best national park in the United States.

The ranking comes from the Wall Street Journal, which listed Isle Royale national park in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula No. 1 in the nation.

Pizzas, tacos, polish and more.

Specials pop up regularly. The Korean BBQ cucumber kimchi tacos were a hit last year. She gets ideas all the time.

Limited menu this weekend, just getting opened up. Noon to 7pm hours Sat and Sun.

More hours once school is out. So look for expanded hours after June 7th.
