Travel Activ - Thailand Update:

We have had quite a lot of correspondence with the DLT over the last week,

**Safety Inspection**
The good news is with liaising with the DLT we are trying to work with them to find ways for travellers to meet all of their entry requirements. One of the sticking points is the requirement to have evidence of a safety inspection certificate, for many this may be impossible, due to the certificate expiring whilst being out of the country and not being able to return to their home country to renew it.

I’m pleased to say the DLT have said that they may accept safety certificates obtained in neighbouring countries / we recommend these are from dealerships, provided there is an explanatory letter with the application, this is one step in the right direction.

The requirement for current registration / tax still exists, but we are working on a solution for this for vehicles that have been SORN.

**Update 30 March - UK Vehicles**
The DLT has agreed that vehicles that are SORN are not required to provide evidence of road tax.

**Temporary stop / Holiday**

We have confirmed with the DLT that it is possible to store your bikes & vehicles for a period of time when you would be free to visit the country without a guide. The requirements are that the vehicles are stored off the road and not used in any way. We are arranging locations near popular beach areas, the Capital and in the North of the country.

**Driving Licences / IDP**

Thailand only recognise the 1949 IDP not the 1926 or 1968

THAILAND PERMIT & GUIDE PRICES 2017

Thailand Permit Requirements from applicant:

• Copy of passport and visa
• Photocopy of driving licence and IDP
• Photocopy of vehicle registration certificate
• Photocopy of vehicle inspection certificate, (Tax if required)
• Letter of Consent (if the owner of the vehicle is not part of the trip)
• Pictures of vehicle (Body type and license plate of the vehicle must be visible)
• Letter stating necessity of using foreign registered vehicle in Thailand, signed by traveller or signed and stamped by foreign travel agency cooperating with Thai Travel agency
• Vehicle Insurance and Itinerary (will be provided by us)

*Note Only IDPs (International driving permits) issued under the Convention on Road Traffic 1949 are accepted, if you have a 1968 version you will be required to obtain a Thai Licence.

*Any documents which are either not in English or Thai will need a notarised translation to English or Thai.
