The best time to travel to Ghana 🇬🇭
☔July-August💃🏻
, Panafest, Homowo... These months are best for cultural festivals. There are 2 public holidays, so expect plenty of events on the 1st July (Republic Day) & 12th August (Eid)
I personally prefer outdoor activities during these months because the weather is much cooler.
However, the rain can get heavy. So depending on where you live, you may experience some flooding. Also, it’s the summer holidays in the west so expect to see a lot of tourists- especially families.
🥵March- April🥚
It’s hot as s**t so I avoid being outside during the afternoon, but I really do love Ghana during Easter.
Festivals like and will keep you busy in March. Also look out for Independence Day events on and around the 6th. is also at the end of the month.
The Easter holidays (19th &22nd April), mean a long weekend, and there will be plenty of activities planned. Head to Kwahu for parties, carnivals, hiking, and if you're brave enough- try paragliding.
🎄December🕺
Ghana in December gets all the airtime, and I suppose that’s fair because there’s so much to do. I won't even start listing events because I will run out of characters, just search the hashtag.
You'll swallow hot, dusty air, you'll overpay for club entry, you'll really understand the expression 'like sardines in a can'. Your money will finish fast, you'll spend half a day in traffic. You go tire for Accra!
You will also meet beautiful people, you'll dance until your feet are sore, you'll eat your way up to a new dress size, you'll see celebs from all over Africa and the world, your phone will fill up with numbers you won’t be able to remember the faces for but will save as: 'free food guy' and 'guy with nice car'.
In December, Accra is the Ibiza of Africa.
So for those of you who have just been paid, isn't it time you booked your ticket to Ghana?
