Crazy amount of rainfall expected by models as ex tropical cyclone 🌀 which is now a monsoon low barely moves anywhere the next week and looks like the Kimberley in WA will get smashed! General widespread 500-900mm with odd spot over a metre of rain! 😳

Heavy rain is expected over all of northern Australia and even central Australia the next week as the monsoon continues to ramp up with embedded tropical lows forming in between

We know how special Western Australia is, and we want other states to experience all that WA has to offer.

So, we’ve partnered with Virgin Australia and from today, we’re offering up to half price return flights to Perth.

This is about attracting visitors to WA and supports jobs across our tourism and hospitality sector.

With one-way flights to Perth starting at just $119 from Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney and Adelaide - our visitors need to be quick to book.

The sale only lasts for one week, ending on 27 June.

If you’ve got friends or family in other states, or just know of people who want travel to WA, let them know.

This is an offer they won’t want to miss.

HAVE YOU SEEN THE SOUTHERN LIGHTS? 🌌

The next few nights are a good time to spot the Aurora Australis in the Great Southern and South West.

Matt Woods from the Perth Observatory said a recent solar storm kicked off a chain reaction creating ideal conditions.

He said while it could last a couple of nights the schedule can be unpredictable and requires a camera to spot accurately.

"If you were to go on the coast and have a look towards Antarctica you would be able to see some red and green," Mr Woods said.

Albany photographer Dougal Topping said people don't have to travel far.

"The good thing about Albany is that you don't have to go very far to get away from light pollution."
