COVID 19 যতই হাত পা বেঁধে রাখুক না কেনো ভ্রমণপ্রেমীদের মন বেঁধে রাখার ক্ষমতা তার নেই... হঠাৎই ফোনের গ্যালারি স্ক্রোল করতে করতে পেলাম ছবিটা। ঠিক এক বছর আগে তোলা উত্তাল রাং ভাং নদীর সাথে!
তাহলে দেখা যাক, ফোনের গ্যালারি স্ক্রোল করতে করতে কার কোথায় চোখ আটকালো ? আর মনে পড়ে গেলো প্রকৃতির মুগ্ধতায় হারিয়ে যাওয়ার কিছু সুখকর স্মৃতি ❤️

দার্জিলিং জমজমাট

প্রায় চার মাস হয়ে গেছে পাহাড় থেকে দূরে। যথারীতি মন আনচান শুরু। তার উপর আবার আমার গ্রুপের বাকি দুজনের সাথেও ছুটি নেওয়ার দিনক্ষণ ম্যাচ হচ্ছে না। এদিকে পাহাড়ের হাতছানিও উপেক্ষা করা যাচ্ছে না। তাই কি আর করা... রেড বাস ভরসা... কলকাতা - শিলিগুড়ির বাসে চেপে বসলাম পোটলা পুটলি নিয়ে... হ্যাঁ একাই !!
"যদি তোর ডাক শুনে কেউ না আসে তবে একলা চলো রে..."
বাবা - মায়ের চিন্তাচ্ছন্ন মুখ দেখে Whatsapp live location অন রাখার প্রতিশ্রুতি দিয়ে বেরিয়ে পড়লাম বাঙালীর অতিপ্রিয় দার্জিলিং এর উদ্দেশ্যে। বহুবার দার্জিলিং ঘোরার পরেও এর অমোঘ টান উপেক্ষা করা সত্যিই দুষ্কর।
কুয়াশার কারণে বাস চার ঘন্টা দেরিতে পৌঁছালেও 'দার্জিলিং' বোর্ড লাগানো সারি সারি গাড়ি যেন এক নিমেষে মন ভালো করে দিলো।চেপে বসলাম শেয়ার গাড়িতে। তিন ঘন্টার মধ্যে পৌঁছে গেলাম আমার গন্তব্য। হাড় কাঁপানো ঠান্ডায় কাঁপতে কাঁপতে মোমো দিয়েই সেরে নিলাম লাঞ্চ। তিনদিনের সংসার পাতলাম AirBnb থেকে বুক করা এক হোম স্টে তে। সারা সন্ধ্যে কাটালাম ম্যালে ঘোরাঘুরি করে। ডিনারেও সেই মোমোই ভরসা সাথে ধোঁয়া ওঠা দার্জিলিং চা।

পরের দিনের প্ল্যান কিছুটা রোমাঞ্চকর। সকালে চোখ খুলতেই জানলা দিয়ে দেখা পেলাম তার যার হাতছানি উপেক্ষা করতে না পেরে দলছুট হয়ে এত দূর ছুটে আশা। এই দৃশ্য দেখার পর এত ভালো লোকেশনে হোম স্টে টি বুক করার জন্যে নিজেই নিজের তারিফ করলাম। গরম ধোঁয়া ওঠা ম্যাগি আর ডিম সিদ্ধ দিয়ে ব্রেকফাস্ট সেরে কিছু শুকনো খাবার ব্যাগে ভরে রওনা দিলাম ম্যালের দিকে। ওখানেই দেখা পেলাম Alphonse এর। গলায় উত্তরীয় পরিয়ে স্বাগত জানালো Alphonse। তারপর Mountain Biking এর কিছু বেসিক টিপস দিলো এবং পরিচয় করিয়ে দিলো পঙ্কজের সাথে যে হবে আমার Mountain Biking ট্রিপের গাইড। হ্যাঁ.... কিছুটা অন্যরকম ভাবে আমার Solo trip কে অনুভব করতেই এই পন্থা বেছে নিয়েছিলাম আমি। যদিও তখনো আমি ভাবিনি কি অভাবনীয় এক অভিজ্ঞতার সাক্ষী হতে চলেছি। প্রথম অবস্থায় একটু টলমল করলেও Mountain Bike কে বাগে পেতে খুব একটা অসুবিধা হয়নি। আলুবাড়ি রোড দিয়ে শুরু হলো Biking। পাহাড়ের কোলে চড়াই উৎরাই রাস্তা দিয়ে যেতে যেতে মনে হলো "আমি তো তোমাদেরই লোক"। বাঁ দিকে গভীর খাদ আর ডান দিকে গম্ভীর পাহাড় সঙ্গী করে পৌঁছে গেলাম জোরবাংলো। সেখানেই সেরে নিলাম ব্রাঞ্চ বিফ থুকপা আর গরম গরম কফি দিয়ে। কনকনে হাওয়া সঙ্গী করে আবার রওনা দিলাম গন্তব্যের উদ্দেশ্যে। জোরবাংলো থেকে কিছুটা এগিয়ে বাঁদিকে একটি রাস্তা চলে গেছে সেঞ্চাল অভয়ারণ্যের দিকে। এগিয়ে চললাম ঘন জঙ্গলের মধ্যে দিয়ে.. এবড়ো খেবড়ো জন মানবহীন রাস্তা দিয়ে সাইকেল চালাতে চালাতে মাঝে মাঝে কানে আসছিলো শুকনো পাতার উপর দিয়ে কিছু হেঁটে যাওয়ার আওয়াজ। চারিপাশের অসীম নিস্তব্ধতা আর পাতা পচার জংলি গন্ধ যেন পরিবেশটাকে আরও বেশি রোমাঞ্চকর করে তুলছিল। বারবার মনে হচ্ছিল কত জোড়া চোখ শুধু আমাদেরই দিকে লক্ষ্য করে তাকিয়ে আছে অথচ আমাদের চোখের আড়ালে। বেশ খানিকটা এগিয়ে চোখে পড়লো এক অবর্ণনীয় দৃশ্য। ডানদিকে গভীর খাদ সবুজে সবুজে ঢাকা... আর বাঁদিকে ঘন জঙ্গলে কোনো এক অজানার হাতছানি। ঘন কুয়াশার চাদরে ধীরে ধীরে ঢেকে যাচ্ছিল এই রহস্যময়তায় ঘেরা নিষিদ্ধ কোনো উপন্যাসের একটা অধ্যায়। ঘড়ির কাঁটা তখন দুপুর দুটো ছুঁইছুঁই। কোন সম্মোহনী শক্তির প্রভাবে ফেরার কথা ভুলেই যেতে বসেছিলাম। সম্বিৎ ফিরলো পঙ্কজের ডাকে। সাদা কুয়াশায় মোড়া রাস্তা দিয়ে ফিরে চললাম দার্জিলিং এর দিকে। সন্ধ্যে বেলা টুকটাক কিছু কেনাকাটা সেরে ঢুকলাম 'কুঙ্গা'...
যদি কেউ পুরোদস্তুর তিবেটিয়ান খাবারের স্বাদ নিতে চান তাহলে কুঙ্গা হলো একমাত্র ঠিকানা। কেভেন্টার্স এর উল্টোদিকের রাস্তা ধরে কিছুটা গিয়েই বাঁদিকে 'কুঙ্গা'। পর্ক চিলি, ডাম্পলিংস আর গেইথুক দিয়ে ডিনার সারলাম। Tummy full করে হাঁটতে হাঁটতে ফিরে এলাম আমার ডেরায়।

এরপরের দিনের সকাল শুরু করলাম কেভেন্টার্স দিয়ে। ঐতিহ্যের ছাপ পুরোদমে থাকলেও প্রফেশনালিসম অনেক কম বলেই আমার মনে হলো। তবে roof top এ বসে প্রাকৃতিক দৃশ্য উপভোগ করার সুযোগ কখনোই হাতছাড়া করা ঠিক নয়। বেশ কিছুক্ষন কাটিয়ে বেরিয়ে এলাম। হাঁটতে হাঁটতে পৌঁছে গেলাম শেয়ার গাড়ির স্ট্যান্ডে। ভাগ্যক্রমে একটা গাড়িও জুটে গেল... যদিও শেয়ার নয়... তবে বেশ কমে রোপওয়ে, চিড়িয়াখানা আর বাতাশিয়া লুপ ঘুরিয়ে দেয়ার আশ্বাস দিলো। চড়ে বসলাম মারুতি ভ্যানে। রোপওয়ের কাছে পৌঁছে প্রায় পঞ্চাশ জনের পিছনে লাইন দেখে আমার ধৈর্যশক্তি আর ইচ্ছেশক্তি কোনোটাই সাধ দিলোনা। অগত্যা ফিরে এসে চিড়িয়াখানার রাস্তায় চললাম। বেশ কয়েকবার চিড়িয়াখানা ঘোরার পরেও দার্জিলিং চিড়িয়াখানা কখনোই পুরোনো হয়না আমার কাছে। টিকেট নিয়ে ঢুকে পড়লাম গুটি গুটি পায়ে। হরিণের খাঁচা, চিতার খাঁচা, রয়্যাল বেঙ্গলের খাঁচা, হায়নার খাঁচা পেরিয়ে ভাল্লুকের রাজত্বে প্রবেশ করলাম। ভাল্লুকের নানা রকম লম্ফঝম্প দেখে এগিয়ে চললাম রেড পান্ডা, পাখি আর বাঁদরের রাজত্বে। এদিকে প্রকৃতিও তার বিভিন্নরকম রূপ নিয়ে নিজের খেয়ালে চলছে। কখনো হঠাৎ কুয়াশায় চারিপাশ সাদা হয়ে এক রহস্যময় পরিবেশের সৃষ্টি করছে আবার কখনো বা হঠাৎই কুয়াশার আড়াল সরিয়ে সব রহস্যের উন্মোচন করছে। প্রকৃতিও যেন লুকোচুরি খেলায় মগ্ন !! এবার পালা পরের গন্তব্যের। বাতাশিয়া লুপ। প্রায় পনেরো মিনিট পরে মেঘের চাদরে জড়ানো বাতাশিয়া লুপে পৌঁছলাম। হাড়কাঁপানো ঠান্ডায় হাত পা জমে যাওয়ার জোগাড়। এরই মাঝে ঝমঝম আওয়াজে নিচের দিকে চোখ গেল !! কুয়াশার আড়াল ভেদ করে কালো ধোঁয়া উড়িয়ে এগিয়ে আসছে অর্ধশতকেরও বেশি সময়ের সাক্ষী টয়ট্রেন। ট্রেনটা বাতাশিয়া লুপে পৌঁছতেই ছবি তোলার হুড়োহুড়িতে ট্রেন দাদুর তো দমবন্ধ হওয়ার জোগাড়। এই ফাঁকে দু-একটা সেলফি আমিও তুলে নিলাম পটাপট। ততক্ষনে ট্রেনও হুইসেল বাজিয়ে রওনা দিতে শুরু করেছে। এদিকে পেটও কুঁইকুই করে জানান দিচ্ছে যে শুধু সেলফিতে পেট ভরবে না। নীচে নেমে এক প্লেট মোমো দিয়ে লাঞ্চ সেরে দার্জিলিং ফেরার পথ ধরলাম। হোটেলে না ফিরে ম্যালের কাছাকাছি নেমে হাঁটা দিলাম মহাকাল মন্দিরের দিকে। ততক্ষনে দিনের আলোর তেজ কমে এসেছে। মন্দির চত্বরে পৌঁছে মনে হলো কোনো এক অজানা রহস্যময়তায় ঘেরা চারিদিক। বৌদ্ধ ও হিন্দু সংস্কৃতির এক অভূতপূর্ব মেলবন্ধনের সাক্ষী এই প্রাচীন মন্দির। রঙবেরঙের চোর্তেন আর প্রার্থনা চক্রের মধ্যে শান্তিপূর্ণ সহাবস্থান করছেন ব্রহ্মা, বিষ্ণু, মহেশ্বর, গৌতম বুদ্ধ, মা কালি এবং আরও হিন্দু দেব দেবী। বর্তমানে যে অসহিষ্ণুতার মধ্যে দিয়ে আমরা চলেছি সেখানে দাঁড়িয়ে এই মন্দির যেন সমন্বয়ের বার্তা দেয়। চোখে আঙ্গুল দিয়ে দেখিয়ে দেয় "ঈশ্বর এক এবং অবিনশ্বর"।
এবারে ফেরার পালা। পরেরদিন সকাল সকাল তৈরি হয়ে বাকি থাকা ম্যাগি দিয়ে ব্রেকফাস্ট সেরে বাক্স প্যাটরা গুছিয়ে নিলাম। সেদিনও কাঞ্চনজঙ্ঘা হয়তো আমাকে বিদায় জানানোর জন্যেই সকাল সকাল মেঘের আড়াল ছেড়ে বেরিয়ে পড়েছে। মন না চাইলেও ফিরতে তো হবে। এই ফেরাতেই থাকবে আবার ফিরে আসার একরাশ প্রতিশ্রুতি। রাস্তায় শেয়ার গাড়ীও পেয়ে গেলাম। পেছনে পড়ে রইলো একরাশ ভালোবাসার মুহূর্ত।

* হোটেল বুকিং করেছিলাম AirBnb App থেকে। নাম ছিল Petrichor's Backpacker Pad. দার্জিলিং স্টেশনের একদম উল্টোদিকের রাস্তায় অবস্থিত। চার তলায় অবস্থিত এই থাকার জায়গা। Solo travellers বা ছোট বন্ধুদের দলের জন্যে বেশি উপযুক্ত। ঘর গুলো খুবই cosy.

• Bengaluru airport is the closest to Kodaikanal at a distance of 270 kilometers.
• Mysore is the closest railway station from where Coorg is 117km away.
• By road, you can likewise drive from Bengaluru to Coorg enjoying the stunning scenic beauty.

Tips: Carry umbrella/ raincoat with yourself.



4. Shillong
Embraced in the adobe of clouds Shillong is one of the 'must go' places during monsoon season. Situated on the East Khasi hills in the province of Meghalaya Shillong will enchant you with all its lush green mountain and roaring waterfalls during monsoon. If you are ready to be drenched then Shillong can be your ideal escape during rainy season.
Climate during monsoon:. Shillong gets average to heavy rain falls. The temperature ranges between 12 to 16 degree Celsius.
Major attractions: Elephant falls, Spread Eagle falls, Umiam Lake (Bara Pani), Shillong peak, Seven Sisters falls, Ward’s lake, hot spring at Jakrem, living root bridge etc. You can visit Cherrapunji (54 km from Shillong) and Mawsynram (60 km from Shillong), the rainiest place on earth from Shillong.

Activities: Boat ride, taking bathe on hot spring, nature photography, walk through living root bridge and many more.
How to Reach:
• Guwahati airport is the closest to Shillong at a distance of almost 115 kilometers.
• Guwahati is the closest railway station from where Shillong is almost 100 km away.
• By road, you can likewise drive from Guwahati to Shillong relishing the picturesque view of Khasi hills.

Tips: It is cold during monsoon. So do not forget to pack woollens. Carry umbrella with yourself because you will be entering to the rainiest place on earth.





5. Goa
Visiting Goa during monsoon offers a great experience. East meets West in this state, where Indian culture entwines with Portuguese impacts left over from a 500-year occupation. The shorelines have served as a magnet for tranquil hedonists. To the north, the visitor-driven scene is pervasive, with a international flair. Travel south for stretches of pristine sand and an escape from luxurious retreats.
Climate during monsoon:. Goa temperature ranges between 28 to 30 degree Celsius during monsoon.
Major attractions: White sand beaches, exotic view of ocean framed by thick lush green forest, National Aviation Museum, Goa Science Centre, scattered catholic churches throughout the city etc.

Activities: Parasailing, waverunners, snorkelling, scuba diving, scooty ride through the historic lanes of the city and many more.

• Debolim airport is the closest to Goa
• Vasco Da Gama railway station is the closest railway station from where Goa is almost 35 km away.
Tips: Carry sunscreen for protection from sun burn and also carry raincoat during monsoon.
