Drama at HRCYC, Emergency services were alerted this morning to what was perceived to be a fire aboard the Jamaican teams flagship "Mary Jane".
A subsequent investigation revealed the dense and strangely aromatic smoke cloud occurred when the external door to the crews quarters was left ajar.
Strangely no complaints were received from vessels moored downwind.

It is with great pleasure we welcome the return of Nobel Peace Prize winner Kim Jong Un, his twin brother Kim Jong Deux and thir the North Korean Yacht Racing Team .
Here to compete in the 2016 International Challenge, hosted by the Hanging Rock Cruising Yacht Club they are sure to provide some surprises.
Kim Jong Un is obviously very happy to be returning and says his crew is better prepared this year.
They have taken advantage of the changes to International Class racing which allows for a bigger auxillary motor for use in emergencies, and installed a V12 Cummins diesel.
We look forward to the commencement of the elimination trials.

Well who would have thought it possible Round 2 of the competition and again the Northn Korean
entry is causing controversy. Observers reported the yacht had yet again been dismasted on the
now notorious Hesket mark and went on to say that surprisingly despite the dimasting the yacht
had maintained headway.
On arrival at the finish line The skipper Kim, nicknamed by his crew "the uncontradictable" was
seen resting his hand on what appeared to be the stump of the foremast.
He explained that the mast and sails were under his hand and
could not be revealed because it was an "on water matter".

Despite having been dismasted earlier rounding the windward mark off Hesket the plucky North Korean team decline the offer of a tow and press on.
A spokesperson for the team later admitted that their choice of rough hewn planks probably contributed to their poor showing overall.
Our commiserations go to Kim and the boys, such good sports.

They said it couldn't be done. Passage from Newham to Bass Strait. I would like to thank those members who gave up their Saturday morning to construct a series of locks over Mt Macedon.
Club members now have direct access form their moorings to Port Phillip Bay and thence Bass Strait. Well done all!
