You are cruising and it is hot outside, what a better way to cool off than having ICE CREAM. You can have the soft serve, it is good and somtimes you can make your own humungus cone or pickup a bowl from the buffet and fill it up. BUT if you want a special treat on Royal Caribbean they have Ben & Jerry's they are on most of their ships 18 out of 21 I believe. If you have a promenade cabin that has the back side of Ben & Jerry's mascot cow in your window you get free ice cream tickets each day. FREE BEN & JERRY'S!!!
For everyone else there is a cost.
Now the Royal and Regal Princess have the largest gelato menus at sea and homemade waffle cones. Again it is not free, but WOW.
The MSC Divina has Venchi Gelateria, and it is next to the main pool, deck 14, ingredients are 100% natural. All gelato is made onboard and they can make new flavours everday. MIND BOGGLING TASTES. Again a cost.

The Perfect Day at CocoCay Royal Caribbean's own island has lots of things to do at no extra cost. A swimming lagoon, a water play area with slides, sports courts, really nice beaches and 5 resturants at no extra cost.
You can get an over the water cabana for 8 at $1,600.00 which includes admission to The Beach Club that has a private beach, complimentary restaurant and other items.
Regular cabanas run you $299 to $599.
The Thrill Water Park can cost $39 to $74 for half a day and $44 to $99 for the whole day. Kids 3 and under free.
The Zipline 1,600 feet can cost $79 to $139. A combo Thrill Park Zipline is about $99 to $179.
Also a cost for helium observation balloon that rises to about 450 feet $39 to $99 for 13 and over and 4 to 12 year olds $24 to $64.
The difference in pricing is based on the season.
They have Captain Jack's, Pirate theme restaurant. Pricing is a la carte.
If you want spa treatments, beach umbrellas or water sports equipment that is extra.
Prices are US dollars and may vary.
It is a wonderful place CocoCay and will bring the KID out of many adults. ENJOY!!!

A few hints for first time cruisers.
It is up to you to get to the ship. Most cruise lines will sell you air fares, pre or post hotels and transfers to and from the ship.
Remember just about everthing costs you now. You can quickly run up charges with specialty coffees, pop and alcohol drinks, so check and see if a drink package is for you.
The spa is great, but they constantly try to up sell you on products and services. Try booking an appointment when in port it usually is cheaper.
Specialty restaurant's have a charge per person.
Watch the ship photographers, you can say no and you do not have to buy their pictures, it can get really expensive.
Enjoy your cruise. Have fun!

Heading for cruise ship. This is what I do when we get our room.

1) check if lights need keycard
2) make sure door locks
3) test electrical outlets
4) put passport and valuables in safe
5) clean tv remote with sanitizing cloth and door k***s and check that your room is clean wash glasses if you are going to use them.
Just a few hints to keep safe and healthy.
